Server is back up with v1.01 of the Mini: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p5llVdr...drive_link

There's a bit of an issue with the Mini not co-existing with the NSU/Imps on the same server. Bit weird - I'll try to fix it. If I can't (it will be Monday at the earliest) it'll be just the Mini's at Monaco Historic League Edition...
avatar
..For info: The mini no longer rolls over like a dog asking for a tummy-rub! The tyres have been tweaked, the non-existant front ARB has been fixed (as well as a highly-technical hidden bit of physics that was contributing to the roll-overs) and the c-of-g lowered. In addition, a rear ARB option has been added should you need it.

As somebody has pinched the combo I was planning for Tuesday, we'll go somewhere else...! The v1.0 of the Mini LE has been released - SCB have got their retaliation in first and will be at Cadwell. We will try a multi-marque race at Monaco with the Mini, NSU and Imp! Laptimes aren't too much different - but the dirving style is chalk and cheese!
avatar
I'll be there
avatar
We *are* racing tonight. Looks like it might be an unusually good turnout (Geoff from SCB has been on,one just now).
avatar
Ok, cool - so are you happy to race in the heat? If it’s just Stu/Paul/Cruicky and myself, we could skip tonight and save the combo for next week…
avatar
Thanks, Myles. I'm going to give it a go now. Pete, a friend of mine, said he might join us on Tuesday so I added the details to discord.

Tuesday server going up in next few minutes (11AM). V097 of the Minis (https://drive.google.com/file/d/14ccUNsB...drive_link) at 60s Oulton Park. The minis have rationalised setup options (three or four settings only for most items) and have had the mirrors corrected by Cruicky. The Medium settings are basically the defaults of the previous version. Soft is approx. half the numerical value of Medium, Strong is 50% higher and Max is double. Track was chosen to bring more high speed corners into the mix.

Broadband outage overnight - IP address will have changed and Favourites will need to be recreated after finding the SR4L server.
avatar
…coming soon (probably on SCB) will be the next SR4L ‘LE’ candidate (hopefully less legally contentious than the Lupino!). Great fun - the only real question is whether we BOP it to run alongside the Imps/NSU and/or finesse it as a standalone. Intriguing, non?

Tuesday (against my better judgement) is going to be the M1 at Ibarra. This is part of the Reiza paid-for track pack. Please scream if you’ve not got this….
avatar
This is odd.... So I thought I'd disabled it in v2.22 but when you go through the DRS zone, pressing the flap button does light up the DRS light. The (first) zone is too short to see if it has any effect though. It'll be swamped by P2P anyway - but might be a cherry on the top if it is still there!
avatar
Is one sure there is no DRS, swear I had it in single player yesterday.

Tomorrow…. I’ve been unable to test this combo, but the server is up with v2.22 of the BMW M1 at Barcelona. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...2955830857 https://www.mediafire.com/file/wikwpb778...2026.rfcmp. There is NO DRS in this version. The battery capacity has been increased and regen is now split over 10 levels instead of the three in the previous version (so you have finer control over the amount of drag on the rear wheels from regen). There is also multi-level ABS to help tame the regen (which is more efficient than before). Bottom line - P2P and regen are something you should get you head around!
avatar
LOL! Yes, it has DRS already! It was noticeable but not massively significant at last weeks track. It’s stretching credulity somewhat to make it truly effective. I did develop a v2.2 car yesterday - 25% more battery capacity, 10 regen levels (over the same range) rancher than the 6 before, ABS (four levels) with bias to try and balance regen braking. That was about it. Maybe just run the existing car tonight and I’ll send you the 2.2 to test… Annoyingly, the brakebywire module (that is supposed to balance physical rear brakes with any regen braking) is *still* broken some three or more years since S397 released it. LMU has killed rf2 in+house development… The module *does* balance the brakes/regen somewhat but has a bug that means deployment is automatic and uncontrollable. Fine for a pure electric racer but useless for a hybrid…

DRS? The car does not have Drag Reduction System. (unless you put that in when I was not looking?). DRS zones on tracks are of use only with cars that you can use the rear flap button with, like F1.

We are racing the M1s at Portrero de Los Funes tomorrow…. ….but there’s a chance we might use a slightly updated version of the car I’m working on. In the absence of DRS zones at some tracks - and with positive feedback regarding push2pass, I’m trying to make regen more effective. At the moment, high regen levels require active management of the brake balance control while driving. I’m working on switchable ABS that helps manage the rears somewhat. Nothing is free though - you might not have to manage brake-bal so much - but ABS will compromise overall brake efficiency even if it allows better stability undervregen… Everything can be turned off though - so KISS if you wish!
avatar
I think we’ll race them again next week.

Good battles. I managed to do a overtake with the Push to Pass.
