I came into server very late, just before race started, so I didnt really came into race feeling.

Nevertheless, I felt Paul's great effort to go through this unique race's demand, a race that is so different than the rest, a big rally stage really.

Paul went through it with success, all race was completed with no fault, thank you admin, thumbs up Smile


I crashed many times through stage, then I went downhill, I tried to get back, then I fell into a deep deep deep thing, that took me back to my pit and my race was over Sad

What happened to you guys? Please report here.

this event was tuff for me - I just drove, no memory of what was coming - but - I made it and my visor is tipped to those at the front - awesome - all of you!

I had a strange feeling throughout the stage.. After the server restart, my FFB felt a bit different than before and my wheel was rattling af.. I had turned down the ffb smoothing yesterday but it worked fine then and also earlier today, so I have no idea what happened. Because of this it was a bit harder to focus on the driving (remembering all the corners...). Felt like driving on ice, and my rear tires wore much quicker than my front tires, which they haven't done before on my test runs. But I was surprised to see I had done a new pb lap, so maybe the feeling of lack of grip was because I pushed harder than before. I spun once too, but still it was a 6 seconds improvement ;D

Well, I love Targa but seriously.. After 2 weekends driving around alone I'm looking forward to some "real" racing again next round 8) See you all in Canada!

I knew this time it was gonna be difficult because once again, my lack of practice. Or 0% practice. Fortunately I recognized some parts of the track since I raced here before, which I think last time was more than a year ago now, so obviously I wasn't confident but still curious about what I could do. I think I made 2 or 3 mistakes overall that made me lose alot of time- including either braking too late ending up in the forest, a concrete pole or turnin into a surprisingly sharp corner. Managed to push abit harder around the half of Targa Florio towards the end and it was going ok. The most important this time was to just finish and I had no expectations about the positions. Finished in 10th place and that was it. Will come back stronger next time! Smile

I started, it was graphically stuttering all the way, I slid off the road and then fell in a hole back to the pits. By this time I was really confused and didn't know what was going on. I only had half a tank of fuel left, didn't know if I should quit and restart, wasn't sure if flag rules were on or off, just not with it at all. Drove half a lap, with super smooth graphics and ran out of fuel. Left the race and then the cold that's been brewing all day decided to make itself fully known. At least I know why I was so confused now.

I enjoy two weeks of full Targa, sometimes doing 4 laps a day and many crashes for sure. I improve my times a lot with a PB of 34.09 this same day, but for the race, something happen, I dont know exactly, maybe load the wrong setup after restart server, because the car wasnt the same. Anyway, I managed to make the 6th spot, enough for me.

Many thanks for SR4L, Paul, Gorka, Tim & Nikos to make this wonderful race and hope next year we host a full 2 lap race with a previous qualy, days before the race. Racing here is the best sim experience.

I had to reset FFB after server restart. I felt it the very moment I went to start my lap, quickly pressed the reset button and everything went back to normal.
I was very happy with my lap considering I had only completed 4 laps these two weeks. I kept concentration all the time and laptime was valid for a 4th place. Had no big crash and kept all time within the road. Only had a few minor scratches and a big save in the first sector. Car was quite tail happy, but that's how I like it.

This was my scariest moment of the lap, the curve just before the long straight. 5th gear, very high speed, narrow corner and almost losing the rear in it.

Yep, that corner is scary. I think it's possible to do it flat out, but I always lift a little to be safe :Smile

well done Gorka - I didn't think to reset my wheel - darn! :-[
I had the same problem. mine lasted most of the first sector. I chalked it up to lag caused by us all being in one group, even though we had a private session, server still has to process all. don't know if that was it, but had during the fun race. and, most races until the pack thins out...

As for me, I just crashed once and knew it was already over (very slow pace and a stop) . Second crash was frighteningly beautiful. Passing a speedy section I pushed over the limit and car spun to the right. Then to save a photographer's life I twitched to the left, jumped on a hill and rolled over. First it seemed like I fell down from a cliff but few seconds later some very kind spectators turned the car back. That was a small chance to make at least 33m lap and the only one thing was left undone - that last corner in Campofelice before the 6km straight. Fat left is not visible at all and doing that corner on 245 kph is epic fun Big Grin

Looking forward to take part in the next big event at Targa Florio. Hopefully it will be opened session with 2-3 laps distance. Just think about that, guys. At worldracing.info we always do so and it's a wonderful feeling when you're not alone on track. With 20 pilots it will be great!

Yes surely it will be RF2 in future. But atm we're not yet finished with HistorX mod for RF1 and usually we use this old stuff. I only suggest to make a classic Targa Florio endurance race. This is my target for future since Targa is not already impossible track for many drivers. Probably it will happen in 1 or 2 years so I think we've got some time to prepare Wink That will be for sure the greatest simracing event! And by the way - it's amazing workout guys!

Siarhei Im not sure if I understand well, did you suggest all cars start together?

I dont think that was the way they raced there, cars started at intervals,on 2 lap timed race I think, only if a car broke or crushed it was passed by other cars.

Correction: Sorry 11 (ELEVEN MY GOD) laps
Intervals were 15 seconds.
Best lap was 33 something.

Congrats to Rik and the top finishers. Are the results posted somewhere?

I think I finished last of those who completed the circuit. Unlike most of you who posted here I'm not wild about this track or format. No way to memorize it so I saw no point in practicing. Now I get the feeling it is going to be a regular thing. Ugh.

It is a good place (and the definition of historic) to run 70's Sports Cars here, but I wouldnt advise or like to have open wheelers at Targa.
Anyway everything is open to discuss here.

The roads around our summerhouse are almost identical, Im driving them for so many years I feel like home at Targa Smile
