RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - gorgias1976 - 03-10-2016 ![]() Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to another season of our Historic Leagues. This season we race the Brabham BT44. Fast, handles nice and brakes good. This 1974 car has huge rear wheels and adjustable front and rear wings which can bring a lot of different race strategies. Refueling during a pitstop is not allowed in this car.
SR4L wishes you good luck for the season.

RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - mel1c - 03-10-2016 Some of were on the server just now and could not set up a pit stop in the Garage. Actually doing a pit stop took 10 seconds, no fuel added, no tires changed (the car was not jacked anyway). Can you guys confirm? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - 1959nikos - 03-10-2016 Same here and DanB reported it too. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - sdancourt - 03-10-2016 F1 races on those days were one single stint without pitstop of any kind. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - 1959nikos - 03-10-2016 So, you propose no pit Santiago? If its historically true, Im for it too. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - sdancourt - 04-10-2016 I think could be fun to make 1 hour races the full champ. Strategy will be quite different and maybe each start will be safer because slower and heavy cars. Just an idea. Besides the need of two setups: one for qualy and another for the race. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - gorgias1976 - 04-10-2016 I like Santiago's idea of no pitstops and 1 hour races, it's up to your decision, fellows. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - edwin - 04-10-2016 Yep i'm in for it 2 RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - deecee52 - 04-10-2016 Its in the car model , you cannot refuel but you can change tyres and get repaired , the car jacks up once at both ends unlike the eves which jack 1 side at a time , its the same at all tracks for this car RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - Hedlund - 04-10-2016 It's WIP so it should not come as a surprise that there are issues with it.. This is probably not the last one we will see. I would have waited for it to get finished before doing a full season with it, but maybe we will have a 2nd season with it anyway ![]() I'm currently setting my new rf2 install up, but I have not solved the disappearing cars problem. I really doubt I will be able to race on Sunday. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - Harri Mac - 04-10-2016 Desperately grasping at straws. Have you tried manually setting up your network adaptor on IPv4 to a particular address on your network rather than letting windows decide, eg 192.168.0.10? Use open DNS as your DNS server addresses which are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 I needed a dedicated network address for port forwarding as I have sometimes hosted but I prefer a dedicated address anyway, old school habits maybe. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - Harri Mac - 04-10-2016 No, it's the network adaptor setting for your computer. Windows 10, right click on what would have been the start button and choose (6 down from top for me) Network Connections Then you can see your network connection, eg Network 2 Right click on that then click on properties at the bottom of the menu box Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and it will bring up a box click on button "use the following IP address" fill in the boxes: choose your network address eg 192.168.0.40 if you click in the next box down it should auto fill with 255.255.255.0 type in your Routers IP - often 192.168.0.1 as the gateway it's what you'd type to access it from your computer Then click on "Use the following DNS server address" and type (this is the address of open DNS) 208.67.222.222 in the first box and 208.67.220.220 in the second box Should end up being similar to this http://www.home-network-help.com/images/manual-set-ip.jpg To undo it all just click on "obtain an address automatically" and all your typed in settings will vanish. This might explain it better than I can http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/ RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - gorgias1976 - 04-10-2016 It's time for my first serious practice in a few minutes. What do you feel this car goes better? high or low wings? hard or soft suspensions? anything else? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - gorgias1976 - 04-10-2016 At the moment higher downforce seems to work better for me. Once thing I've tested is autoclutch vs manual gears (clutch pedal) and autoclutch is faster. In a straight test starting from 2nd gear 110km/h to 280km/h in 5th gear, autoclutch took me 0.2sec less to reach the speed than best attempt in manual gears. Anyway I'll keep driving manual gears as it is what I enjoy best. Other data. 1000m starting 110km/h in second gear Autoclutch - 15.69sec at 279.7km/h Manual - 15.75sec at 279.2km/h RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - Mike Bennett - 04-10-2016 gorgias1976 Wrote:I like Santiago's idea of no pitstops and 1 hour races, it's up to your decision, fellows. +0.5 (part timer) RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT44 Season - Round 1 - Sao Paulo - gorgias1976 - 04-10-2016 Well, I think we can do this 1st league event in a 1h race. Then we will speak about how things went and if we keep that way or change for a better. We must be very carefull with the posibility of a freeze which could happen by mid race. If moving the server to steam has made the freeze to be gone, that'll be great news. |
