It was designed as an early 60s track with terrible tarmac, I guess because of not sufficient funds after the war, as 917 was a 70s car that run in smooth tarmac, not on a plowfield. It's the haybales! This is not a good track for a league race! I have NEVER been in a race at this track without someone hitting the hay in the first few seconds causing a massive pileup at the start, and I have run many races here. I have NEVER been in a race at this track without finding a haybale someone else has hit blocking the road that you can't see in time to miss. Yes the 917 is a fun challenge at Classic Belgium. My feeling would probably be different had I been involved in more incidents with hay bales. I was going to go for the Gulf design with a colour change and purple people eaters instead of the gulf logo. Can't find the results of the last league to get the number for my car. I don't know how fast the classic Porsches are at Nords, but considering they are lapping a bit faster than the modern ones the whole season, races should be 4 laps long. I'll probably do 7:15s in a race if I don't sustain damage. 7:15 x 4 would be 29min for me, so just about right. Fast guys will be waiting a couple of minutes for the rest of us to get done, as usual. |
