RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - deecee52 - 01-03-2021 Visually i had no problems , everyone was in view no lags or flickers The problems i mentioned were all of my own making and were down to my driving , its easy to slide the tyres with this car which heats them up quickly and makes the grip disappear , that meant my braking was all over the place making me take strange lines etc , the car appears very sensitive to grip levels on the back which makes it nervous , From my point of view the car is OK to run RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - deecee52 - 01-03-2021 Edvvc, post: 29339, member: 582 Wrote:I didn't experience any problems that affected racing but I did see some weird movements of other cars in the monitor as if I or they were lagging badly, or maybe due to the server. Occasionally other cars render in extremely low detail but it's rare and doesn't affect racing. On the plus side the car is a dream to drive and seems to respond to my inputs very well. Normally I prefer to drive with manual clutch, braking with right foot but go faster with auto clutch and braking with left foot to get more overlap of throttle and brake. With this car it seems significantly faster to use manual clutch and brake with my right foot for some reason. No problem ED thats 100 stop and goes in the next race
RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - DJCruicky - 01-03-2021 I'm happy you gave him the penalty, saves me giving it to him .We did have to do something special at Canada race that we did not too long ago with a artificial pitlane speed of 100 KPH. http://www.simracers4life.com/forum/index.php?threads/sim-racers-4-life-%E2%80%93-f1-1979-round-14-canada.2713/#post-28894 RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - ricikrick - 01-03-2021 mod seemed to work ok it was me who seems to be having difficultys with braking the car would be unpredictable and throw me off the track into the wall or the gravel going to change wheel and see what happens RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - deecee52 - 01-03-2021 ricikrick, post: 29343, member: 124 Wrote:mod seemed to work ok it was me who seems to be having difficultys with braking the car would be unpredictable and throw me off the track into the wall or the gravel going to change wheel and see what happensRick watch a replay if you can , make sure you were not locking the brakes , it was mega easy to do with these cars , i had to drop the brake force to 50% but still locked up if the tyres were too hot , also check the brake bias , too much to the rear made the car spear off , i was running 54 - 46 RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Ricknau - 02-03-2021 Will there be another pre-season event with this car? I had frame rate issues with my VR setup that I didn't have racing against AI. Would be nice to make changes and test if they help. I do like the car. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - gorgias1976 - 02-03-2021 This Road America version is a rather heavy one. Depending on your hardware you may have experienced things like input lag, delays, stutters,.... Was impressed by the constistance of the racing field, which drove a lot of time nice neary to each other. Overtaking was hard. The slipstreams weren't strong, maybe because of the missing of long straights and top speed? I notices alot of nice close racing but not allot over real "fights" or overtaking. The Porsche '73 is realy nice to drive and got strong brakes! Looking foward to join you again here and there if possible. Thanks to all participants and organisation! Greetings, Ratus |
