I don't remember the race.:-) I had trouble staying on track. Sorry for smacking Yeerke. I was actually feeling a little racy but need to work on my track awareness. Even with all the overlays I miss things. I have info overload. Still a fun race and nice to see so many drivers. I think I'm trying to be so careful I don't drive as good lol. I'm a work in progress.

I think you just didnt have enough practise.
I practised almost all week there and still there were some turns I was not sure I was taking them properly.
btw dont clutter your screen with tons of info, they tend to take your concentration away. Only overlay I cat live without are virtual mirrors, I fully recomend them.

It is indeed much information to process but it'll come with time.Race 1 I went off track at T1; didn't brake enough so dropped a lot of places. Had a fight with Neela in T4 (hairpin) going head to head. We were both commited to the corner and I couldn't brake so we traded paint. She spun a little and because of it she got bumped by someone else. Really sorry 'bout that Neela! But luckily you finished in front of me so that serves me right...
Race 2 & 3 were good fun, a lot of battles with multiple packed-up cars. Awful mistake last lap of race 2, lost two positions there, real face slap moment. Anyway, good fun, great fights, good races once again.

Yes practice is key. I have been quit distracted as of late and have not practiced as I intended. The overlay gives me some issues as well and for what ever reason the track was in the middle of my screen and would not move. . I had no time to fix so I had to turn it off. I just noticed a new plugin update. Still I need to practice more and work on my awareness.

I understand you use map of track?
If so, dont.
It is really impossible to follow track from a map and it is misleading to understand how a turn should be attacked.
When you see racers having a map on their wheel, they only use it for the turn numbering so they dont make a mistake communicating wrong turn with pits.
Please correct me if Im wrong at this as I never used this plugin.

+1 Virtual mirror is a necessity imho, at least the middle one. Default hot-key for those is ''3''.
Also, if you must use other overlays, don't place them in the top left corner of your screen because that is where blue, yellow, finish and stop and go/drivethrough flags are shown. I remember spending some time behind JP at Sebring and behing Thomas too the last races, wondering if they were at all aware of what's happening behind them and are about to be lapped. Result is do-or-die moves to overtake a ''lapper''...
Now I saw TP saying ''it's not real'' after Yerke's comments yesterday. I'm not sure how to translate that. Ofcourse, it's a game, a fun-league with emphasis to fun and that's good but don't forget people do practise for it to be competetive, some more than others and it's frustrating to lose the seconds of advantage gained by preparation and commitment, to lose them by someone who's not having mirrors on or maybe even just don't care... I don't mind having differences in skill-level, that's the way it is and will always be but we can, although we fight each other the best we can, we can help each other and be gentleman-drivers at the same time.
Sooo ;D great fun it was yesterday. I couldn't get close to my best lap in Qualify but it was good enough for 2nd spot, along side DjC. First race I had a good start and got the lead exiting Turn 1. I was making little mistakes after that and DjC overtook me. I tried to hang on but it didn't really workout and my stop was quite slow too so 2nd again on the grid for the next race.
This time DjC had a better start and got the lead but I outbraked him before the hairpin. So back in first I was determined to make no mistakes but I did and again I tried to follow DjC which worked out better than in race 1. Again I pitted one lap earlier than DjC and again, DjC came out in front after he pitted, a lot further ahead as well. Then it was Alex B who sat at the front row-seat watching me making mistake after mistake, letting me pass and passsing me because I found some magnetic concrete tires next to the road etc. but at least I finished 2nd again.
Reversed grid race was a mess. After 2 laps I pitted for damage and tires and got out behind Paul Swire and DjC. They must have been a lap ahead because I lost a lot of time recovering from a crash and get going again plus the pitstop. Paul was clearly acting as a buffer between me and DjC, I couldn't get past till they both went sliding at the penultimate corner. While overtaking Paul, I couldn't help but to LOL at them, it was a nice situation. I was to far back to get a decent result but all in all great fun!

It was a good event for me. I do like the Clios. Good looking track too.
I was worried about my high pings. The day before, my ISP gave me a free speed upgrade to my broadband, new modem the lot, but the result seems to be worse. Felt like I was playing on a server from 10'000 miles away.
Surprised I got pol, even with Marcel in the room
. Had some very close racing the 1st parts of the first two races. Very happy with 2 wins. I agree with what Marcel said about blue flags and back markers, I had 2 in my races that just would not move, having to try overtake instead of lap them.
3rd race was a mess from the back of the grid, got caught up in someones else crash, got mega damage. Wheel 45 degrees to one side, damaged so much even Paul S overtook me, eek :O. Pitted, but was stuck there repairing my car for almost 2 laps, last I think I finished.

FYI.....I ran with virtual mirrors, my plugin was off because it's messed up. I looked in my mirrors. I thought I was running an intelligent race but I made a couple mistakes. I moved over even though no blue flag was up. I know not to clutter my screen. I do not want to create problems or be in any ones way but I'm going to race with more intensity and work on my mistakes. I want to be considered a threat to win and not as a road block.
Also. When I said it is only a game...it's true. I understand that does not make it less important. Just came out wrong. When I joined I felt the fun league was a way to learn about the game and re-enter racing after a long layoff. I know being part of an organized group helps me to become better and a more disciplined driver. That being said if I cannot return to some form of my former self ( did that make sense?) I will get the heck out of the way. Heck, I even changed my forum name to get more serious

In a nutshell what Marcel said basically. There will always be a skill difference, that's what we all have to accept. What's also true is that knowledge is power. The more you're aware of what's going on, the less trouble you're giving yourself and others.
N.B. I think SR4L is a great group of people whom are not only skillful and experienced but also getting along very well. I think no one here will deliberately have fights with eachother. Everyone needs to able to give and take constructive criticism in order to improve. In an competitive area like this, where things can get heated often, I think we're doing a great job.

I was too negative in my report, only seeking mistakes and forgot to mention the most important: I had some great fights with Neela, Nikos, J. Cook and Thomas P. I very much appreciated these and the race would be boring without these fights!

Take your time, I sure did quite a lot and Im still making same silly mistakes.
I bet in sometime youll be passing me like Im standing, I hope not though lol
