RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 28-02-2014

I have it set to 0.08 now, but I still have the FFB deadzone... Or, the FFB is so weak there that it feels like deadzone. But if I increase the "minimum ffb torque" more I get less feeling in the corners/ffb clipping.
So... It's not that good as I first thought. But a little better.

Btw, I managed to join SR4L server today Wink But I had to take the F1 version because if I try to change car modifications or skin, rf2 will crash... LOL.
There's a new feauture in this build, that allows us to change car model in server without leaving. Maybe the crashes has something to do with it

Anyway, I did 25 laps or so... some basic rubber if our Admin want to use it 8)

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - cookie - 28-02-2014

i was able to get on the server last night - worked fine - matchmaker is bugged though - ISI say they are fixing it

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 28-02-2014

I think I have found some quite nice settings now...
0.05 minimum torque, 106% strengh in logitech profiler + 60% spring and 70% damping. 0.5 FFB multiplier in-game.

At least this feels awesome with the Howston G6 -65 Tongue

I really like this build, except the multiplayer issues

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - DJCruicky - 28-02-2014

I've not even done a lap yet, I'll try be there tonight. I'll see how my old graphics card handles this track.

Happy you fine Marcel.

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - jerry 33 - 28-02-2014

i got in and...

what a difference to my wheel settings. the car is un-drivable.. so, I am going to take some of suggestions posted here and go test.. Smile

also, I did notice you can select your car In-game.. as stated above..

hope to see some of you on-line latter

thanks for all your help guys Wink Greatly Appreciated!

seeeeeeeeeee ya --- jer

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - jerry 33 - 01-03-2014

more stuff

got the wheel drivable - still some to go. here are other things I found tonight..
there is a "join button" problem that is hit or miss, kept me out for about two hours and then let me in for a race. I just tried going back in and it won't let me.
also, there seems to be a parc ferma thingy now. it would seem, that once you enter qually, you can only change bare minimum. you current setup will say "parc ferma". I don't know if administrator can change this. but it sure throws a wrinkle to your plans. no going out in qually and come back in and change to another setup..
that's it for a while for tonight..

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 01-03-2014

Yes the greyed out join button is really annoying. Apparently, you'll sometimes need to wait several minutes before you can join. Just select the server and wait until join button works...

I was waiting 5 minutes yesterday before I gave up, so I don't know if it's true. Maybe it takes 10 minutes sometimes. Restarting the game doesn't seem to help...

And we also noticed the parc ferme thing yesterday. I guess there's an option to turn it off.

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - edwin - 01-03-2014

Waited half an hour yesterday to join our server.....never happend >Sad

I will give it another try tonight :Smile

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Txus - 01-03-2014

After installing the new build I was not even able to see the list of servers available.
I removed the player folder (made a backup first Tongue) and it started working, I was able to join server yesterday without problem

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - 1959nikos - 01-03-2014

I uninstalled RF2.
I didnt delete RF2 folder afterwards, I just copied Packages and User Data folder.
I installed new build.
I pasted above folders.
I didnt have to install anything in game, all was already installed automatically and worked perfectly.
I didnt experience gray button, maybe just luck, but I certainly found a super speedy fresh install method I think.

update:
I do experience it and it feels awfull.
Maybe go back to previous build?

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 02-03-2014

I'm sure we will have a hot-fix soon... Early this next week, anything else is unacceptable. Totally broken build for multiplayer.

Otherwise I see no problem with using 382 for next race.

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 02-03-2014

Installed build 382 because we're going to use it tonight in the usr league... And wow what a difference in the ffb, now I can really feel that huge ffb-deadzone.

If some of you guys are going to race at Kyalami tonight, install old build Smile (I have them both installed)

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Hedlund - 02-03-2014

Today I was practicing with build 382 and I really noticed that the FFB feeling is much better because the "minimum torque" doesn't excist. I can feel the road much better. With 494 it's like a static spring regardless off FFB multiplier. So I'm not sure what I prefer, to use the "minimum torque" and no deadzone, or to feel the road better but with a huge deadzone...

I was looking at the controller.ini and found this line:
Steering torque extrap blend="0.00000" // Higher blends of extrapolated value allows driver to feel torque changes even when actual torque exceeds 'input max' (0.0=disables, 1.0=max)

I now have it set to 0.500000 and I think it feels better. I can feel more variation in the FFB in the corners.
Can you guys who are using "steering torque minimum" try this and tell me if you feel any difference? You might want to lower in-game ffb multiplier a little bit because I think it increased ffb strengh just slightly.

I have Steering torque minimum set to 0.5 atm, I don't want to use higher.

Yes i will try it and report back Big Grin

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - cosimo - 03-03-2014

Steering torque minimum set to 0.5 is surely a bit too much. Hopefully you meant 0.05?

With my T500 I found 0.03-0.04 to be a good value. More than that is not helping and feeling "stiff" and strange mid-corner.

Steering torque minimum also helps feeling engine vibrations when car is stopped, which I didn't notice before with rf2.

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - gorgias1976 - 03-03-2014

Darn, I need to find some time to test all those settings.

Lol...Yes of course it should be 0.05. Sorry ;D

RE: rF2 Build 494 out - Txus - 03-03-2014

I experienced the grey join button issue yesterday, I uninstalled the vmod , went to the list of servers and the "get mod" button was enabled, clicked it and joined succesfully.
