RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 20-07-2015 when I get Pauls xml I will try it and let you know RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - Paul Swire - 20-07-2015 They are on the dropbox Tim 8) RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 20-07-2015 ok Pauls xml did the same but worked on sim results HELP it is Watkins glen race 1 RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 21-07-2015 Yeah, there were some strange characters in the xml file which the program couldn't read. See the attached screenshot for the error and I attached the working xml file with the 'bad' characters replaced. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 21-07-2015 thank you my friend you are a wiz. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - Axe - 21-07-2015 LOL typo in chat with local alphabet/keyboard, characters with accent mark sorry RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 21-07-2015 Yeah, lol, no problem It's easy to fix if one knows what to look for! You're welcome Tim, always glad if I can help ^_^ RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 28-07-2015 So, found the time today to work on strike-results. It is working now basically but implementation isn't final yet ![]() It will now take a bit longer for the championship tables to load but that shouldn't be a problem. Attached a screenshot to show how it will look like. Take note that the results for the last few races aren't accurate and I just filled it with other results for testing purpose. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 28-07-2015 I see how it will work but we are only striking 1 not two was this just for show? after thinking about it I think it only hurts the people with 100% attendance all other will strike a dnf or a missed race but that is for next season discussion. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 29-07-2015 Ah, I thought we striked two, but anyway it was just for show. It will strike the amount of races which one has configured of course. Well, I don't think it should hurt people. Its just that if one misses one race or has one really bad race it doesn't hurt as it just won't count. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - jerry 33 - 29-07-2015 just to say... I thought it was to strike a race weekend - whether that weekend had one or two... we might be saying the same thing.. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 29-07-2015 yes a weekend so 2 races maybe so I see your point RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - deecee52 - 29-07-2015 Those results are great let them stand , I am in front of Cookie at last ;D RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 22-08-2015 Hey guys ![]() Sorry, I really intented to finish the program before the season ends ... well it didn't work out that way as I was occupied with other things. Will try to finish it within a week, no exams at the moment so I am positiv I can do it. Until then I would have to ask Tim to do the final standings (with strike results) by hand if you guys don't want to wait so long. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - bullwinkle - 22-08-2015 take your time Chris is seems no one is concerned about the strike results. Everyone except Jurac missed at least one race or did not score in a race so if we do a strike only Jurac would lose any points all others would strike a zero weekend. We can try to use it next season after you have completed it. I hope we see you at more races next season to push those front boys. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 22-08-2015 Ok Tim, thanks for the reply ![]() You happy how the tool worked this season? I am, apart from a few little problems it seemed to work quite fine. Needs some finishing though and I'm open to suggestion for improvement if you have any. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - 1959nikos - 22-08-2015 All went very well, we are all very gratefull for your work from both of you last season ![]() only thing I could add is that it would be better if you would put numbers in front of results after every race both in race participants and at championship. Dont bother checking DJ, just put 1 in front of him always :
RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - Paul Swire - 22-08-2015 Chris, This was a great help this season ![]() Between you and Tim you both saved me a lot of time having to do uploads and edit XML files to get the results showing, people like Fergy and Marcel will understand 8) I have one question about your application tho, how does it export? Tim always displays it as an image, is it possible to export as a web page so people don't have to load the images in a thread to view it. I was thinking I can add an area with web links showing all the results for each race. RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - c.pucher - 23-08-2015 @Nikos I can add race participants on top or bottom of a column representing a race. Don't know what you mean with the "at championship" part? Do you mean the place the driver has in the championship or do you mean which place he made in a specific race? The later I would add next to the points. ![]() @Paul At the moment Tim has to make a screenshot and post it then, you are right about that. And its something I'm not perfectly happy with too. Its basically a table so it shouldn't be a problem to export it to a format you can use on a web page. Will look into this ![]() When I started the tool I tried to export the table to a format which could be directly copied into the forum but the code language the forum uses is no good for showing nice tables ![]() Thanks for the kind words guys
RE: Managing results/championship table: offering help :) - 1959nikos - 23-08-2015 c.pucher Wrote:@Nikos What I mean is: Race 1 1. DJ 2. Nikos 3. Any 4. Dont care Championship 1. DJ 2. Nikos 3. Any 4. Dont care etc etc this way I wont count from top to me to see at what position I am currently. Of course do it if its not much work, otherwise dont bother
