This event we will drive another multiclass event with all classic open wheelers in rFactor2 Eve F1, F2, F3, Spark F1, F2, F3 and BT20. Special pitstop instruction for SPA (as posted last year, thanks to DjC for the effort) You will need to set a 'request pit' button and press it in good time before pitting. Unlike other tracks the pits are on the main straight. ![]() Nikos showing us how not to pit:- ![]() ![]() WHEN RACING On a normal lap when NOT pitting, don't cut the entrance of pit lane. ![]() You can cut the line at your own discretion after the pit entrance. Hitting a pitted car will see you disqualified from the race. ![]() If you decide not to pit after requesting a pitstop, careful not to drive into the pit area or you could get a speeding ticket by the game. Cancel pit request is best thing to do. When you are low on fuel the game can automatically request the pit crew without you requesting pit, be careful this does not happen if you are cutting into the pit area at full speed or again the game could give you speeding ticket. Cancel this request with the pit request button. This should not be a problem anyway if you follow the above rule of not cutting into the entrance of pit lane. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - DJCruicky - 25-11-2015 Nice one Gorka. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - gorgias1976 - 25-11-2015 Thanks David. Everyone remember it's a fun race so what is most important is to have fun in it and not try to win the race in the first corner (we know this track is prone to massive crashes in Eau Reuge). There are plenty of straights ahead to battle the car in front. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 26-11-2015 I've done some testing today. I still have my setups from the EVE F1 season and they worked quite well. My pole lap was 2:19.6. Now I could only do 2:22.0 :p Then I tried the Spark and after 5 fatal crashes I could finally complete a lap, 2:23:2. It's probably 0,5 to 1 second slower than the EVE, but it's so freakin hard to drive. Even though my setup was ok and the car felt ok to drive, it can still do some crazy unexpected stuff all of a sudden, which makes me really uncomfortable. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 26-11-2015 Oh, I probably mean 3 minutes not 2... lol. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - jerry 33 - 26-11-2015 no, it probably was a 2:19
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - gorgias1976 - 26-11-2015 LOL. Rik was it F1A, F1B or F1C ? I did a 3.23 yesterday in the F1B. Car was very unstable on the straights (constant wandering), must check toes or casters or something else. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 26-11-2015 gorgias1976 Wrote:LOL. It was the F1B ![]() Yeah you better check that. The F1B should be really stable, not be acting like the Spark! ;D Anyway I'm happy to share my old setup with anyone if we're in the server at the same time. But my setups are not very popular anyway lol. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 27-11-2015 Btw if someone don't have a skin but want to make the grid a bit more colourful, you're welcome to use my skinpack http://www.simracers4life.com/index.php?topic=866.0 3 Spark skins and 2 EVE's.*unshameful advertisement* RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - DJCruicky - 29-11-2015 I say this every time, but for the new guys there is a trick to remove the white posts from side of track,....Set track detail setting to something other than Max detail and they will be gone. I will be doing that. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - gorgias1976 - 29-11-2015 I also do that.... but mainly for performance issues since ISI changed the details showed in every option. I need a GTX TITAN and 3 big monitors, in case anybody wants to sponsor me ;D RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - 1959nikos - 29-11-2015 DJCruicky Wrote:[SIZE=20px]I say this every time, but for the new guys there is a trick to remove the white posts from side of track,....Set track detail setting to something other than Max detail and they will be gone. I was thinking, lots of new guys in, maybe they dont get some things as a mandatory pitstop. A good solution I think would be a fixed setup with enough fuel for a pitstop. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 29-11-2015 Yep, was fun. First race was so lonely that I wanted some action in race 2, and when everyone crashed in the start I had to wait for DJ to join me But when he preferred a meeting with a tree I gave up ;DPlease no fixed setups. Some cars are ok as default, but I think many (me included) want to have a car that suits their driving style. Would be cool if rf2 allowed fixed fuel only but I don't think that is possible. Another option is to have like x10 fuel consumption, so that a full tank isn't enough for a whole race. Actually that would be very interesting because cars will be much slower at the start and faster as they burn fuel, and pitstop strategy would be more important. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - sdancourt - 30-11-2015 Agree with Rik, increase fuel comsuption is the easiest way to force a pit stop, leaving drivers free to setup their cars as his choice. Tactics become very important and add fun to the race. Of course, this option is valid only for Fun Races, becouse for the Champ, everybody knows the rule. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - gorgias1976 - 30-11-2015 I think what's most important is that people read the rules, they are pretty clear in the race announcements.... but then you see people talking while qualy or races, people who don't pit.... As Santiago says, we could use the fuel multiplier in fun races as people could join without having read the race announcement, but for the league events I think everyone should have read it and have it all clear. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - Hedlund - 30-11-2015 That's probably what happens when there's no password. Random people just looking for instant fun see the server in the top of the server list and just join. The small chatbox is not enough to give information, and when Paul (server) writes something it's black and difficult to see. I think it was at Essington people started calling votes about race restarts and stuff. Really annoying.. As I see it, we can either: 1. Use fuel consumption multiplier so a pitstop is required to make it to finish. 2. Skip pitstops in fun races (I woulnd't like that) 3. Add password that is available at ISI forums (probably will result in smaller grids) For the league events there should be no problem though
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - gorgias1976 - 30-11-2015 I expect a big crowd this weekend. The Eve F2 is very easy to drive in Belgium. Start will be tricky though in such grid configuration, you have to find the right spot in the clutch to get the necessary wheelspin (while holding the brakes too). I was very lucky to get it perfect on race 2 but on race 1 I raised my clutch too quickly and car started with almost no torque at all (fortunately traffic was intense and quickly recovered the speed) RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Events - 60's Open Wheelers at Belgium - DJCruicky - 30-11-2015 Hedlund Wrote:Yep, was fun. After just lapping a BT20 I found my car going sideways round the turn until smack found a tree. Thanks for waiting at the start and after the pit stops, made a nice battle. Your Spark was so much quicker on the straights. Yeah, there was 3 that never pitted in Essington fun race, I lost my Class win by someone not pitting, me coming 2nd in class instead. |
