RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - 1959nikos - 07-02-2016 First race of Season and Im having 3 big lags at the start?? After that it was almost end of race for me. But, Im a persistent guy so I went on and had a Stop and Go penalty and then a Pass Through penalty and then I lost count ![]() Second race was better, I decided to make me some tea 1:30 before race, I obviously missed start of race, I joined 1 lap down, all good, no worries ![]() Tell us your experience at first race of season guys. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - Hedlund - 07-02-2016 First race of a season is always exciting, and this race was no exception! QUALI My pb was 2:10.7, and to be honest I had expected an improvement of at least 2-3 tenths. But for some reason I could not get it right. In my final laps I was really close though, and my very final lap I had 2,5 tenth improvement in first sector, but lost it. 2:10.8 something. Anyway, it was good enough for pole position ![]() RACE 1 Got a good start even though I started from the dirty side, I was able to steal the racing line from DJ. So I got an exit good enough to keep him behind me the first straight. My first laps were really good, and DJ and Gorka could not stay in the draft. My first stint was pretty much 2:10's and 2:11's only. So I had a nice little gap when I went for my pitstop on the end of lap 7. I though that most guys would pit same lap or one lap earlier, but when I came back on track I found myself behind Cookie who I knew was driving very low downforce. I was not brave enough to overtake him on the slow part of track, and on the straight it was impossible! On the second lap behind him I decided to try anyways... I was extremely close out on the long straight but still I could not overtake him, I tried to outbrake him but as I was on the dirty side it was not possible. Fortunately he pitted same lap, but now DJ was right behind me. I had lost like 6-7 seconds in only two laps. But I managed to build up a gap once again and win the race 8) RACE 2 Really interesting race.. I decided to use my low downforce setup because of what happened in last race. I knew Cookie and maybe others too with low downforce would start in front of me. I got a good start again, two guys lost control in T1 and I managed to accelerate past one guy on the straight so I was already 5th. Now I was behind Cookie again but this time I knew I had enough speed to overtake him on the next straight. He went wide in the hairpin before the straight, so I overtook him. I thought that maybe I could defend my position, but his topspeed was a bit too good and he passed me, but lost control in the fast right-hander just before the braking zone. He came back and hit me hard and I lost control.. Next second I took Gorka out in extremely high speed, and found myself in the gravel. Sh*t happens.. I decided to pit instantly and got a 29 second stop. I rejoined in last place and thought the race was over. My laptimes was better than I had expected (I thought the low downforce would be much slower), and gained position after postion. Thanks to my topspeed, overtaking was much easier. Suddenly I found myself side-by-side with DJ who came out from the pits on lap 7 or 8 something. I think he was using high downforce so he could not attack me on the straights. But with 10 laps old tires I had expected higher pressure from him, but it never happened. The last guys pitted and I was suddenly in 1st place (??). I was really surprised about that. DJ kept the gap of 2-3 seconds constantly but could not attack me. So I won again :o :o Thanks Paul for hosting and fixing the server in the last minute
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - gorgias1976 - 08-02-2016 Qualy ------- My personal best was a 2.11.9 offline so when I did a 2.11.5 I was happy enough seing I was among the top three. Race 1 -------- I started without trouble having the inner side of turn 1. I was comfortable in third place losing some tenths to DjC lap after lap. At the end of lap 5 I did my pitstop and exited behind a group of several cars. Luckily they all went for their pitstop the next lap, so I never reached to meat them. The remaining of the race was uneventful, finishing in a nice 3rd place. Race 2 --------- Started on the outer side in 8th place but after the first corner I found myself in 3rd. After the backstraight I was heading for the next curve when I felt a big bang and suddenlly I was rolling all over the place, just could not understand what happened as there was a big gap to the cars coming after me (later after the race I saw the replay and the unlucky crash). I rejoined the track and I was surprised to be in eleventh place (I though I would be last by that time). I had some bodywork damage so I set the "do not repair" option in the hud. The next lap I approached a group of 5 or 6 cars who were battling eachother. As I was reaching them I decided to request an early pitstop to avoid being held in the traffic but right in the same place I had my crash two cars touched, one spun and cars were being spit through the grass without control. I was lucky to avoid some of those cars by going through the grass and exited ahead of them, so I canceled my pitstop and kept as planned. After my pitsop in lap 6th I exited behind Rik and a lap later DjC exited between we both. And so it was for the remaining of the race, having again the same podium finish as the race before. Dan was leading the race with several seconds to DjC so I don't know if something happened to him as he was not there after the pitstops. Btw, is Marcel not joining the league? I haven't seen him in a while. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - donrandom - 08-02-2016 Congratulations to all who survived this demanding, but wonderful track – especially to the guys at the podium!! I was expecting much from the Bathurst Race, especially because I really like the T290. QUALI was great, I did a PB lapping below 2min13 and started 5th into RACE 1. After 2 laps I was still 5th and just started to settle into my rhythm. Suddenly the gods were against me and sent a flash of anger against me … or rather against my G27. Just as I was at the peak of the hill my wheel disintegrated. The plastic piece that holds the wheel broke into pieces (see attached image). Well, since also Andi didn't have the most brilliant day, Bathurst didn't live up to the teams expectations at all. I am not sure if I can fix my G27 easily or at all. Does anyone know if/where I could look for spare parts? Hmmm, I guess I will have to invest in a new wheel. Let's see how fast I can manage to do that. I am actively looking for an additional sponsor so that I wont have to miss too many of the upcoming races. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - deecee52 - 08-02-2016 Ramon that is an easy fix providing the wiring to the wheel is undamaged . Just get 6 steel washers for the screws , this will spread the load over the plastic centre and allow you to fasten your wheel back on , may not look pretty but its cheap . RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - deecee52 - 08-02-2016 Qually Went out early but messed up my first attempt , pitted for new tyres and tried again and quickly got a time I was happy with which netted me 4th. Race 1 Got a good start and dropped in behind Gorka , couldnt live with the pace of the top 3 so just drove my own race , pitstop went ok at 25s , after that it was a quiet race for the finish . Race 2 Got a good start but had to back out of it to avoid the first corner crash so I lost all my speed, this meant I got swallowed by the pack on the run up to the 2nd corner and dropped many places I was behind a very hard driving Robert , tried to pass him on a few occasions over the next few laps but he was determind not to yield , his braking was getting later and later to hold me off , eventually he left it too late at the end of the main striaght and went into the back of my teamate causing them both to spin , went wide to avoid and thought I had got away with it but unfortunately my teamie just caught me a glancing blow which spun me out , had to wait for the field to pass before I could safely rejoin and went striaght into the pits . Came out well down the field but on a clear track so just pushed hard , places slowly came back to me until I caught Cookie , I was all over him over the mountain but he was faster on the striaght , all I could do was put pressure on him to make a mistake fortunately for me this happened on the last lap on the mountain when he clipped a barrier and went wide , this let me through to 8th . Thanks Dave, I will try to fix it. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - Hedlund - 08-02-2016 deecee52 Wrote:Ramon that is an easy fix providing the wiring to the wheel is undamaged . Exactly my thought.. Should do the trick Question is, is the bit of plastic really needed? With steel washers big enough you could skip the plastic (I think?) and tighten directly to the axle although it would look even worse lol. I can imagine the plastic is a bit too slippery even if you tighten the screws really hard.

Washer, interesting, I didn't know how they were called. By the way it looks I also think it can be fixed that easily. I would also add rubber rings between the wheel and the washers to add extra stability. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - Harri Mac - 08-02-2016 I don't feel well and keep having moments of feverishness, my son had brought back some sort of Northern virus on steroids from his girlfriends. I was almost grateful the server wasn't working and had sort of relaxed and decided to enjoy the evening as it didn't look like there would be a race. Then there was, good grief! Quali - not too shabby. race 1 - a few feverish moments with sweat in the eyes but otherwise it was ok race 2 - a few more feverish moments and what I call lag bubbles, it's a moment where you are driving and then suddenly there is nothing at the wheel like it's lost all force feedback. It happened twice and both times it felt like another car had pushed my car from a rear corner into a spin. I drove 3 or 4 laps with steering damage which made it wobble very interestingly down the straights and not turn very well, had to brake a little earlier and lighter. Patched up the damage with the designated pit stop and exited behind slightly slower moving traffic that it was impossible to pass. All in all, pretty happy with the result but discovered for sure that I don't like having poll position on the grid, knowing the aliens are behind me, so I'm going to have to work really hard at always finishing 5th (if only )
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - jerry 33 - 08-02-2016 well the race gods were probably getting ready to watch the Super Bowl and left me alone - or they were after ramon and hari.. either way I benefitted from other's misfortune - I'll take it I hope you get your wheel fixed ramon - yet another weak link in the G27. Hope you get better hari.... for qually and the race I had 2 setups, the more aggressive one which I thought was quicker and the mild one. couldn't get a clean lap with the aggressive setup and opted for the mild. qualified 10th - would start race one with mild setup. race one - again, other people having problems so I moved up thru the field. came out after my pit stop behind Juraj and a Great Battle commenced - right up to the finish of the race with less than a second between us. he finished 5th and me 6th.. Very good, clean racing fun! tip of the visor to you Juraj! ![]() second race - of course I was going to try the more aggressive setup - why not - as ole Bullwinkle will tell you - I CAN'T leave well enough alone. by the time I finished the first lap I KNEW I made a mistake. what a beast and I was slower! but, lucky for me again, others had even more problems and I finished 5th. as I stated above - I'll Take It! thank you Paul for getting the server problems fixed and Gorka for organizing everything and Tim for keeping our points!

Don't get nervous for having the alien drivers behind. Just the opposite, think "ok, sooner or later you may pass me, but I'm not going to let you do it easily, I'm going to show you battle". That's what I think when I get Rik in my mirrors. ;D RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - Axe - 08-02-2016 jerry 33 Wrote:Very good, clean racing fun! tip of the visor to you Juraj!2 drivers a must for clean racing so thank you... RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - gorgias1976 - 09-02-2016 We are looking forward to have you on track again Ramon. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - cookie - 11-02-2016 here is my report , but , if someone could make a video of the big crash in race 2 and post it here it would be cool to see ....... race 1- i was doing great until about 3 laps left after my pit i hit the wall and had to finish with a bent car. race 2- i got a good start and was holding my own headed for the mountain but could see rikard had made alot of ground , i figured he would pass me by the time we got to the long straight , i underestimated him and he nipped passed me on the down-slope...i wasn't concerned and would have been content to stay there , however i got a tremendous drive off the last corner onto the long straight and had to swerve a little to avoid creeping into the back of rikard- despite his reported lowered downforce i put the run to him down the straight and was ahead by the right kink , i should have just pulled in front to the racing line but was trying to be safe so tried to take the kink from the right hand side - mistake- i touched the grass...mom always said stay off the grass....170mph i became a passenger, i knew i touched rikard but it wasnt until i stopped in the sand i saw how bad, he flew past me and hit the wall .....he headed to the pits , i saw gorka at the back too when i got going but had no idea he was also collected ........ i was scratching my head after the race, have no idea how rikard managed to come back and win the race and gorka too , we all died on lap 1 ... :'( RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - T290 Season - First Round - Bathurst - Reports - gorgias1976 - 11-02-2016 In reality I would have survived as I was hit in the back of my car and just stayed there rolling in the grass. ;D Anyway the half of the car would have been ripped in that crash.
