RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 2 - ROUEN Race Reports - gorgias1976 - 20-06-2016

I'll start this one.

Qualy
-------
My objetive in my BT20 was to get below 2'00" and so I did by the end of the session, getting a 1'59".9 wich was valid for a 10th place (out of 13th drivers)

Race 1
--------
Wierd race start. Getting into turn 3 one of the cars ahead went wide into the grass. Rejoining the track he hit a car on my right and they took me with them against the barriers on the left. Something wrong in that side of the track as when I went back to track I suddenly recieved four 10sec stop & go penalties.
I had to serve them lap after lap finally visiting the pit area 6 times. 4 for the stop & goes, 1 for a drive through for exceeding the speed limit on the pitlane and the expected pitstop for fuel and tires and repairs which took 76 seconds.
Finally I ended 10th 3 laps behind the race winner.

Race 2
--------
Starting on pole I had lots of fun. Trying to hold those Eve F1s but only for very little time (In Montecarlo things won't be that easy Tongue ) I managed to do good lapping and ending the race in 6th place.

Still getting top 10 finishes, that's fine.

Qualy: Was able to get the first pole on the championship, without Kristijan and the flying Swedish it was posible.

1ST Race: I wanted to have an easy race, no fights no risks, planed the pitstop to the last lap, so i can stay in front max time posible without fighting, maked a good pitstop, i think it was 46.5 seconds? in the last lap some kind of lag atacked my potato pc, so i lost my mind, and hit some wall, has to make last lap with a destroyed car, i have no idea how Neuman didnt caught me. But i was able to finish the race second, not the best, but is ok...

2ND Race: This one was a crazy one, i know i have to stop in the pits as soon as posible, but i prefered to fight the fisrt laps, because im having lot of fun with that lot of cars in front, after 2 or 3 laps, i realised that if i not stop now, im not going to finish the race, im destroying my tyres in the fight, so i make the pit stop and tryed to push to pass the most people posible in the pits, that was crazy, when 2 cars getting out the pit in that first crazy corner, the pit exits are in the middle of the line, and it is a very hard turn i can pass the cars but the risk was very very high, so i lift and finally end in the grass to avoid a crash, destroyed tyres, and from here the race was crazy, make like 3 spins more after that to the end of the race, ended up 5, not good, but was lucky to finish this race.

Now heading to monaco, lets see what we can do in that track, its going to be fun as hell, hope no one ends in water xDDDDD hope not me...

I forgot to add, a sudden freeze some of us suffered. It happened in race 1 just as DjC was crossing the finish line and I'm not sure if at that moment Bryan also joined the server but I suddenly got a more or less 20sec freeze. I was just mid main straight with DjC 4 seconds (and 3 laps) ahead when that happened.
When the freezed ended I suddenly had David Merino just ahead crossing the finish line too (so I guess he didn't suffer that freeze).

Lol, sounds like you had some serious technical difficulties yesterday :o But well, that's part of (rf2) racing, I have learnt. But should not flag rules be off, so that we can't recieve those silly penalties? Speeding in pitlane is usually the only one we get?

Only 13 drivers? Must be long time ago we had so few participants for a league event. Unlucky! But that happens sometimes. It is a really great track. Can't believe I missed it... and Monaco too :'(

It was father's day in some countries, wasn't it? that could be a cause (alongside summer holidays)

I think I saw 17 before race started, not bad at all.

Qualfied 3rd which was a surprise but with some of our top runners missing I guess it's not that surprising. Q lap was a pb.

First race was uneventful. Held p3 all the way through the run to the hairpin. Was some fender bending just behind me which eliminated any pressure so I pretty much cruised to the finish maintaining p3.

Second race was more eventful. Started p8 with DJC just behind me. I gained 2 spots before the hairpin then one more when Mariani went wide at the sharp left in the uphill portion. Next pass was on Gorka in his underpowered Brab at the end of the long straight. DJC hounded me for a lap and then made a daring but great pass on the inside at T1! On lap 5 or so I inherited p4 when Dan Minges slid out into the railing on the approach to the hairpin. A spin by DJC gave me 3rd back. I pitted late (end of lap 10) from p1 with a large gap. I watched the graphic position bar nervously as the pack got closer and closer while my pit timer counted up. I got released just as p1 came blowing across the S/F line! A terrible situation for a pit exit but I couldn't just park and let the whole field blow by me. So I gunned it and hoped whoever it was would see me and avoid disaster. Thank goodness he stayed left and made the curve. WTG Dan Bayford, did you see me in time or was it just lucky? I got out in p2 with DJC right on my tail. He got by at the hairpin when I understeered on exit. Had a little fight with Tobias but he went off at some point and I brought it home with another P3.

WTG to all those racing around me. I had a fun race and satisfying result.

Practise: Somehow i like those cars and i liked the track resulting in plenty of practise laps and experimenting with lots of settings
Q: PB and place 5. Some fast guys were obviously not participating.
R1: Someone kissed my back in lap one but damage was minor. Intense battle with Dan with several position changes. No major crashing. Ended in midfield position.
R2: starting in P5, then could take advantage of the battle in front of me and lead for a few laps. Had a clean race until I went for the pits with too much speed and crashed against the entry wall. Felt like an idiot after the clean laps of the beginning.
Racing felt good, practising seems to pay off.
best
Tobias

That's pretty funny! I watched the replay. Hmm... new strategy for bleeding off speed quickly on pit entry... clever! Though I'll bet it cost a lot in repair time.
