RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 3 - MONTECARLO - REPORTS - 1959nikos - 03-07-2016

I was doing well all week here, I even did an 1:27!!

My weekend started with a disaster, I did Practice and Quali with a 5 laps load of fuel and I forgot to change it for race!

I realized whats up while on grid, so I started slowly trying to get over the shock.
I stopped before the Hotel hairpin wondering what to do, I fumbled with the pitstop settings praying that it would work.
I took a pitstop at 5th lap and it actually did, and I settled in an easy rythm trying to make no mistakes.

I didnt and at the end I was reworded with an incredible 6th place, unbelievable!!

Second race and guess what, I forgot to set pitstop again!!

This time though I had bigger problems, starting up front with reverse grid, I had a contact and I hit barriers, not too hard tho.
I kept my place up front and settled in a cool 4th position, but a fast Rick lost his braking, pushed me at Tabac and I hit barriers hard.

Rick waited for me to recover, kudos to you mate.

My steering was visibly off, but I managed to lap fairly decent, only thing was that I couldnt apply full throttle or brakes or I was sideways.

So, I decided to take my chances and not repair at pitstop, and it all worked good, I almost had me a 5th place, which I lost it to Billy at last lap as I saw a Marhall with a blue flag just before Hotel and I thought he was lapping me :S

All in all a great evening for me, two 6th positions is something I havent seen for long and Im not expecting them again in the near future.

So how did your evening go gents.

Looking forward to see the replay of Nikos great achievement and rest of the race tomorrow ;-)

RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 3 - MONTECARLO - REPORTS - Ricknau - 04-07-2016

Really sorry Nikos for the tap at Tabac. I had a run on you but in the last couple of seconds, coming up on the ramp, I realized that I was probably not going to be able to hug the inside and that you were blind to my position on the track. I tried my best to hold the turn, and came darn close to avoiding you. But of course I didn't. Sorry to make you lose 2 positions and take damage.

I had a good, if uneventful first race. P4 on the grid with a PB under 1.5 seconds from my best practice lap. Finished in P4.

Second race more interesting. Started about P6. Had a good start and got by Paul but before San Devote some folks in front of me got squirrely and I clipped (or got clipped) by some of the cars involved in that. Damaged my steering. Fought that, but managed to learn how to drive the damaged car only a little off my regular pace. Pit stop on lap ten was long, due to damage repair. Dropped from P4 to P8, I think down one lap, but managed to get back to P7 before end.

Almost missed the races. Have been doinking with DSL service and new modem as well as converting to Steam. As part of my troubleshooting I decided to check my ping to the race server and low and behold the last 20 min of practice was going on! Wow, I was completely unaware. :o

RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 3 - MONTECARLO - REPORTS - gorgias1976 - 04-07-2016

It was a great weekend (the only one I could have a chance in my BT20 and I didn't miss it)

Qualy
====
Close to the end I was able to beat my PB making a 1.25.2. I was runing the same fuel for the race as I preffered to keep the feeling of the car for when the race started.
My laptime was good enough for 3rd place behind both Davids.

Race 1
=====
Starting on the middle side with Rick on my right I was very carefull to avoid an incident. He also was and a few corners later he let me through.
So I found myself in third place behind David Merino, lapping not far from him doing a good pace (the chicane looked narrower than the car during the race XD)
Around lap 8 or 9 I saw David's car not taking the chicane and running wide taking his 2nd place. I took my pitstop at the end of lap 9, 46 seconds, quick pitstop. After the pitstop I just focused on keeping concentrated for the remaining 11 laps.
And so it happened and made it to the finish line in second place, enjoying it as a victory.

Race 2
=====
Starting 7th, I think, I was again in the middle of the lane with DjC on my right. As the green flag went out I started cautiously and lost several places braking to avoid a couple of cars which made contact on the left barrier. I was among the last cars at that moment.
At the end of lap 2 I decided to go for an early pitstop to avoid being held in traffic. Another 46 seconds and going back on track pushing hard.
As people went for their pitstop I was gaining positions until when the final car pitted I realised I was again in second place as in race 1. Tires behave good for the 19 laps I punished them and drove me to 2nd place at the end of the race. Great.

RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 3 - MONTECARLO - REPORTS - DavidMerino - 04-07-2016

I am evolving as a chiken pilot no doubt, Road America was a safe track, no fear, in Rouen i started to see the danger in chickens lift turn, here at monaco i have seen the evil, crazy barriers, crazy curbs, the tunel, this crazy chicane, the water, and finally the jump, so much danger together.

Qualy: The day i maked the setup in singleplayer was able to get 1.23:6, no luck in the qualy, was second.

1ST Race: Missed chicane and a stop and go. Happy for Gorka to finish second, i just needed to finish in front of Ricknau. In that race i was very very near to lost a place in the lag, and finish 4th, i have had to push the brakes so hard on T1 was even last lap, that was so close....

2ND Race: Started 6ยบ i dont know how after the chicane im second and David its in my back, time to let him pass easy, i lift and he passes, no fight no more dangers, i didnt want to fight him and risk my car and hes car, he is more fast and he haves and engine i hate to hear near me (need to tweak sounds in game for this v12), this one was more good race, but that time i missed again the chicane, stoped even in worst place, was a good race, with all the danger it has, i was happy but i missed a lot of people in that race. I miss Kristijan, i miss Minges and Bayford, and offcourse i miss Hedlund. Paul didnt want to make this race, and this one was hes best race in the champ! grats my friend, good work!

Now heading to another new track for me, this one is going to be a more safe track, time to relax a little, i hated silverstone all my life, i have to test this historic one, and lets see. Its nice we dont have SPA in this champ because i dislike it too, about the race in greenhell, are we going to do 2 races of 13 laps?

Grats to everyone finished this track, the combo was a killer, probably most hard championship race, grats to David i dont know if Hedlund its going to be able to pick up you again in the champ, its going to be interesting, but you can not miss more races Hedlund.

RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 3 - MONTECARLO - REPORTS - sdancourt - 04-07-2016

Lovely race, lovely track and lovely car. I really enjoy this race.

Qualy: P6 with 1.26.333. my top time.

Race 1: Manage to be P6 most of the race, but lack of concentration made me fail couple of times until lost control exiting Massanet in lap 17, car in 3 wheels and DNF.

Race 2: I start in P11, but soon got P8 with 3 slower cars in front of me, I decided an early pitstop and by lap 12 I was P4 and keep it, very concentrated, no mistakes, pure pleasure while driving as fast as I can with a very steady rhymth in this track and with this car.

My best result ever in SR4L.
