RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 5 - MACAU - REPORTS - Ricknau - 31-07-2016

Post em here boys.

I did well... considering. Was able to do a 2:27 at-will in hours leading up to qualy. In qualy I barely did 2:28. But got me 3rd on grid.

Race 1
Got knocked at the entry to T1. (Edit: Dan B, what the heck happened at the start? Connection problem?) Didn't seem like much but it damaged the steering. Pitted at end of lap. Rejoined in P8. Managed to climb back to P3 at the finish so pretty satisfied.

Race 2
Started P8. Again some jostling at T1 but no damage. Gained a few spots. Had fun hair-raising swing around T2. Got caught up in some jockying cars going into T3. Honestly, the chaotic situation caused me to miss my brake point by JUUUST a little. But it was enough to slightly tap John Cooke (my team mate... BAD ME! Very sorry!). I don't know what it did to him but the bounce put me nose-in to the wall. I watched every dot go past me in the position bar. So I was last place P12. Pitted about L3. Some how came out around P8... not sure but I think. Climbed back to P5 and was closing on P4 very quickly at the end. One more lap and I would have had it. But P5 is pretty satisfying being that I was in last place early on.

Didn't practice much or better say almost not at all because i don't like the track with this car (spark) but thought try to drive as clean as possible and see where it brings me.
That was my best decision ever in a league race weekend.

Quali:

I really don't know anymore what spot i qualified the laptime was about 1:34:5xx

Race 1:

I managed to stay out of trouble in T1 although the mayhem was happening right in front of me. Came out of T1 in second spot :o and stayed there for the rest of the race. Again had a very bad 10sec+ stutter in the last lap in the middle of a corner and that cost me a lot of damage luckily i still was in second spot and managed to finish. My best result ever in a SR4L official race weekend...... ;D ;D ;D 8)

Race 2:

So much happened in this race and starting from 8th spot i never expected it would turn out this good.
Obviously DJ and Rikard where a lot faster and DJ went off over the horizon right after start never to be seen again by me.
Rikard passed me on a straight and to be honest i didn't fight him very hard.....no no no team orders but he was way faster like always and i wouldn't take the risk of damaging both off us just by giving him a run for his money.
Finishing 3rd in the end Big Grin

i think i made 2 or 3 mistakes in these races and maybe that is even more rewarding than finishing 3rd and 2nd

na forget the last sentence, being best of the rest is feeling good 8)

RE: SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - ROUND 5 - MACAU - REPORTS - Hedlund - 01-08-2016

Got home in time to watch last half or Race 1, and saw my teamie bring home second place.. Although I wondered what the h*ll he was doing on last lap, but later found out about the lag.. lol Big Grin Good job mate.

RACE 2
Started from the back, I think two places behind Cruicky. I decided to try to make a really good start and try to challenge him. I got a good start, but it was really tight with a lot of cars around me so I felt like I had to back off a little. In T2 I was surprised by the quite early braking from some of the cars ahead and slammed my brakes but couldn't avoid giving my team mate a push. We all got through T2 though, but the first lap from here on was painfully slow for me, with cars having extremely different braking spots and race lines than me, and I knew David was gone Tongue I missed the only overtaking opportunity (the straight) by missing the final corner, but catched the guys ahead again in T2 and Ed let me past (thx Tongue). Then I can't really remember what happened but it was a bad lap and I pitted with some suspension damage. 101 seconds later I was back on track and managed to climb to 2nd spot, and was happy with that after the bad start.

I will try to have some more practice for Nordschleife 8)
