Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to another of our tipycal Fun Events.
This time we race the Porsche 917 in Brianza. The temple of speed. The bankings of Brianza are no joke and will demand every driver their best skills through them.

Massive Freeze on race 2. Game froze, grahics too. As fas as I now DjC had the same problem whereas other cars seemed to be racing normally.

First off - big apologies to everyone for my tirade at the start of race 2. :-\ :'( :-[

Something very weird was going on with rFactor. I was having serious screen stutter issues. I don't have the best PC/graphics anyway. The strange thing was that while I was stuttering, my car was slowing down. Not according to the vehicle physics, but according to track position! I have a detailed analysis to come with a series of screenshots.

In both races, people who hit me came from far behind and were traveling at most 2 MPH faster. Neither collision was the fault of drivers at all, but was due to simulation weirdness.

I very well know that in-race chatting is forbidden, and I agree to NEVER do it again.

You were not the only one having problems.

Seems there was a big lag at the start of race 2 i have uploaded the race replays in my previous post so all can see what happened

My vision does strange things with the shadows at Brianza, I get a strobe effect and start feeling light headed and unreal when driving it. To deal with it I have had to turn shadows off. I had a few moments when the graphics were stuttering slightly but other than that it was pretty much ok. I don't know if this is because shadows off makes the track/car easier on my hardware or if I was just damn lucky not to get lag/freeze/stuttter issues.

I had no trouble at all at Monza with performance, only in race 2 when the mega freeze came crashing rfactor2 for both DjC and me.

Only thing I noticed is Oscar started really late on race 2(maybe the lag Paul's says). I was able to brake at first, but coming to accelerate againg his car suddenly lost speed (maybe as Dan's issues) and couldn't avoid him.

This is the moment when some tifosi fans attacked me with a pointed stick....
In fact, that branch caused me a big crash. Be very careful when trying to overtake between Lesmo 2 and Ascari.

This time mine was different to the pause problem that I sometimes get. This time my screen froze with the game carrying on without me. I could hear my car crashing and I could feel my wheel jolt. Then I found myself looking at my desktop with a message Graphics Drivers Crashed or something. Could not Alt-Tab back into game, so I killed the rfactor2.exe process.
Watching server replay, looks like my driver-less car bounced off the right barrier, then the left, then back into middle of road right into the path of Dan Bayford sending him deep into the gravel. Bill Lipscomb was not lucky too. Hope it was just a one off, big sorry.
This was not some evil plan to let my girlfriend win the race or anything, well done Harri Big Grin

Dan Mingers, the problem you are reporting, the makers of the game call this 'dropping out of real-time'. Your CPU must have been struggling with all the cars close by at the start. Next time it happens you can check by looking at the Purple bar. Ctrl-C to bring it up. If it is maxed out then it shows you in trouble.

All this stutter, lag, dropout doesn't bode well. Should we have a short practice race with the F1 historics to see if there might be problem next Sunday?

Lucky you! I was there for the 2010 GP when Alonso (my favorite) won for Ferrari. A trip and weekend I will never forget.

Probably the Matra is your problem Bryan. If my memory serves me right the matra on steam workshop isn't the good one.

I think you are right Edwin. IIRC I had the exactly same problem in the beginning of this season, until I un-subscribed from the Matra. Downloaded and installed it the old way instead.
