RE: ISI F2 2012 Race #1 at Palm Beach - Paul Swire - 28-10-2012

Well what a great race, had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will put a more detailed report up tomorrow. Great racing by all.

RE: ISI F2 2012 Race #1 at Palm Beach - Paul_Ceglia - 28-10-2012

Race 1
pretty fluid with some minor mistakes...basically lost concentration a couple of times. Marcel made a boo boo in the first couple of laps around the left turn after the chicane so i was able to capitalize on that and chase gorka down for the duration of the race until i made a boo boo and Marcel took his position back finished third i think ....first podium in the league for me

Race 2
Turn 1 opening lap gorka got into it with marcel so i steered clear and never looked back....well maybe a little pitted on lap 10 marcel was still 10 seconds back upon leaving the pit so I took it easy and made sure not to lose the car... by lap 16 marcel was in my mirrors two more laps he would of had 1st. This was my first win in the league...

Race 3 random start postion 4th
I was pretty much spent from the last two races I mad alot of mistakes in the first 3 laps. marcel was out so i wouldnt see him till the end...gorka was right in front of me when he pitted on lap 6 or 7 i stayed out pitted on lap 10 again left the pit in second and stayed there. gorka was 10secs back so i felt pretty comfy. Maintained my focus and finished strong.

First race I thought I was doing ok, and suddenly I saw KoR finishing in front of me.

Second race I took my revenge, I did a couple of 1:07s too!! (I love this car)

Third race I thought I was doing great, and suddenly I saw KoR finishing in front of me AGAIN!!

I hope this doesnt turn up a habbit of his. Sad

Race 1
Starting from the clean lane, i was able to take first place from Marcel at the start. Then hold him back a lap until he made a mistake, leaving Paul behind for the rest of the race until he made a mistake 3 laps to the end. I did my pitstop quite early and found myself in traffic, luckily Giorgio took his pitstop the following lap so no much time lost.

Race 2
Starting now first in the dirty lane could do nothing to hold Marcel. Eased off early to have a cleaner entry at turn 1 and 2 and avoid the attack from Paul but the left foot was still on the clutch and not on the brake, so I was stepping the clutch and so, not braking. I ended up hitting Marcel at turn 2 and spinning. A did an early pitstop to avoid traffic, and the rest of the race was a recover race to end up third.

Race 3.
Again on pole and dirty lane. This time no clutch mistake. Marcel took first at first curve. The rest of the race was trying to keep Paul C behind. It seemed that whenever I did a mistake losing some tenths he did it too so we remained quite even. After the pitstop I spun so when Paul C did his he was quite far to be reached, ending up in third again.

So you were left foot braking?
I used to do that with two pedals, but now I use three, I cant anymore, I make the same mistake you did always.

RE: ISI F2 2012 Race #1 at Palm Beach - giorgetto giaguaro - 29-10-2012

Really nice races tonight,

In qualifications i grabbed the 4th time.
Race 1 really quiet race, i started in 4th position and finished at the same rank.
Race 2: Started at 7th position. I had an accident during 2nd lap and was constricted to pit (for 139 sec), so last position.
Race 3: Started a the 7th position and was able to finish in 4th.

I had so much fun with the F2_2012 and congratulate with all the members for the good driving.
Smile

According to my screen tonight after each race... race 1 4th, race 2 and 3 5th why the DNC? it says Pit DQ whats that for? I pitted and nothing came up during or after the race...Ah well, no worries. Maybe I misread something, I will pay very close attention next week.

Edit...DQ was probably a dodgy pit entry, it was a bit last second. So that would explain that. :Smile

Left foot braking, as this modern open wheelers are driven. The problem is the G27 has the clutch and brake pedals too close.
With the 60's cars left foot is just for clutch
