RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 23-11-2016 ![]() Welcome to Sim Racers 4 Life Fun Events. Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to another of our tipycal Fun Events. This time we will race the recently released Caterham at Zandvoort. The Caterham is an easy handling car thanks to its lightweight and low center of gravity. Despite being rather happy tail on the throttle that won't be any issue for our experienced drivers. Remember to chose the best configuration at the tuning section of the car selection screen.
SR4L wishes you good luck for this fun event.

I'll test it this afternoon and see how much I can increase the graphics compared to my actual GTX 760 until mantaining the same FPS RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 25-11-2016 That's strange, I should be getting double the frames, and I'm getting lower ones, any idea? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - Harri Mac - 25-11-2016 Have you been trying the card out on a lot of different tracks? I have a new GTX 980 in my machine, it was fine at Zolder but I'm getting tearing and other issues at Zandvoort. I'm assuming that it's the track that's at issue not the card as it's perfectly fine everywhere else. Waiting on parts to arrive to build a new machine as I'm hoping it will solve some of the issues I have experienced in league events. I don't think my minimum spec machine was helping. On the old card it was like 55fps, then it dropped to half in the new card. Tried the game doom, and it worked like a charm, every graphics setting at ultra. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - sdancourt - 25-11-2016 I m experience some graphics issues at Zandvoort, nothing heavy , a kind of fast graphics "vibration" at some places. I have a 2 GB 750 GTX. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - Hectari - 25-11-2016 Gorka try running msi afterburner in the background and it'll give you a better overview of how everything in your PC is performing https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner Also did you do a clean installation of graphics driver? Have you checked Nvidia Control Panel settings? Maybe changing things there would help? I'm no expert but those are the things I'd be looking at first myself. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 25-11-2016 I've tried reinstalling but no help. Only thing I see is GPU load is at max, could that be what's causing the slow fps? But how can that be solved? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - Hectari - 25-11-2016 It's really strange that the gpu is max'd with such low fps. I did similar and went from a 760 to 980 and the performance jump was huge, as it should be for you. In nvidia control panel, check that Texture filtering - Quality is set to high performance and maximum pre-rendered frames is set to 1. Most stuff in the control panel should be set to off or application controlled. Make sure vertical sync is set to Off in there also. Power management mode set to Prefer maximum performance too. If you still can't find the problem I'd start working my way back through the older drivers and see if that makes a difference. Something else to check is the PCI-E speed the GPU is running at. Download GPU-Z https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ if you click the ? it will show you the PCI mode it runs at in game. Can also use the sensors tab to see more in depth what is happening when you're in game. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 25-11-2016 Solved. It was something as silly as using a different connector from the power suply. Suddenly I get 100fps with everything at max. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 25-11-2016 I forgot to say thanks for your advices, my bad. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - DJCruicky - 26-11-2016 Good news, I bet it had you worried for a while. My best guess is maybe the lead you first tried was from a 12v rail that was maxed out already on Watts. Using the other lead could be from another rail that had enough watts to run it at full speed. My PSU has 2 rails, some are single railed PSU's. The sticker on the PSU or instructions show the rails and what leads are connected to which ones so you can help better spread the watts evenly between all your PC parts. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 26-11-2016 For some reason I had the 8 pin connector (the one that the graphic card needs) coming from standard red and black wires from the PSU. On the other hand I had a couple of 6+2 pin connectors coming from black and yellow wires. Then I realised that, yes, they can stand a higher Amp demand. I didn't plugged them firstly because I was worried I used them wrongly and ruin the card. That's why I used the 8 pin connector as the logical choice.
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 27-11-2016 I just tested the car on the server. Car is a real trainer for those who want to practice rear control.... and for those who want to train their shoulder muscles too. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Caterham at Zandvoort - gorgias1976 - 28-11-2016 It was great fun both races. Very fast drivers out there, surprised by how fast people drove in a car that was no easy to control. Rick, we missed you . |
