Sorry Ron.... RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - sdancourt - 07-08-2017 Very good car but deserve a better bodywork and skins, could be the base for a nice TransAm Mod. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Dan Minges - 08-08-2017 My car certainly needs better bodywork. A first turn meeting with the wall knocked off my right front fender. I figured the pit crew would replace that in the 233 seconds it took to fix the damage, but no. The car drove fine but seemed slow on the straights. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - JimmyC - 08-08-2017 Congrats to the podium and to the finishers. A too-rare appearance for me. I've lamented my Sunday schedule before. Not worth repeating. The size of the field was very impressive. :o I managed to start P9, and got a good launch. Thanks to some over-enthusiasm, cold tires, and full fuel, I quickly moved up. By keeping a steady pace, I found myself in P3 as the need for pit stops approached. Unfortunately I got distracted by a lapped car going into the Lesmos, missed my braking point, and impaled my lovely car on the armco. Pity. My tires were holding up well, and I'd planned to go with them to the end. DC and Gorka were in another league, way ahead and pulling away. Good fun, as always. Maybe I'll be able to attend another event this decade. ;D RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Bruce - 10-08-2017 Can't remember was I in this race? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - gorgias1976 - 11-08-2017 Didn't see a Pink car. Actually, wasn't you who joined just before qualy? can't remember now. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Bruce - 12-08-2017 Possibly, I was in car #7 Bobby Grim I think. My memory hasn't been too clever since I had a head injury from a Motorbike crash in the 1970s, but it is getting worse with age. My car wasn't pink, it was blue white and red

You were there and yes your car was blue white and red! https://www.dropbox.com/s/o5qnw5ng80wy9o9/rFactor2%202017-08-12%2015-26-06-029.avi?dl=0 RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - 1959nikos - 12-08-2017 Bruce Wrote:My memory hasn't been too clever since I had a head injury from a Motorbike crash in the 1970s, but it is getting worse with age. What were you riding then Bruce. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Bryan Birtwell - 12-08-2017 typical is spelled incorrectly... :o RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Bruce - 13-08-2017 Nothing special, it was a Honda CD175. By the time I got to the interesting stuff I'd stopped crashing. Got up to a ZX1100 (GPZ1100 A something) finished up with a CBX 1000 Z before my back injury stopped me ridding. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - 1959nikos - 13-08-2017 Great bikes there. The most I had was a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 850 and a Ducati 600 Pandah. Oh youth, great times. Im sure DC doesnt even remember how that was anymore. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - Fun Event - Howston Dissenter at Brianza - Bruce - 13-08-2017 I had a Benelli 654; same braking system as the Guzzi. It through a rod and I put a 500 four Honda engine in there but kept the Del Ortos. The engine mounts were an exact fit. I also used the Benelli gearbox and cam chain tensioner. The Benelli engine was based on the Honda 500 four (the 750 six was in effect 1.5 x 500), so the parts did not need much modifying to fit. Yes, as I was very bad at feeling tyre traction, this helped me enormously. Aplying the foot brake, it worked back disc and left front I think. The right hand lever at the steering only applied right front disc if I remember well. Very balanced braking. Btw the Benellis were considered exotic then. |
