RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - 1959nikos - 24-09-2017 While Im writing this, race is on but Im not in. My connection is awfull so I better skip this race and hope next time will be better. A good attendance today and very fast people too. Place your reports here so we know what happened. RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - myself9 - 24-09-2017 I've had cleaner race starts in public lobbies with complete random drivers. We really need to work on that :-[ RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Dimitris Papps - 24-09-2017 It's my fault,it's me to blame... :'( sorry if i ruined someone's race and pleasure....sorry... :-[ RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Mauro - 24-09-2017 After some crash at starts, good races. I wish in better starts in next races. With more experience with this car we can improve that. P.s. I don't like many drivers raced from start to the end with smoking engine. very annoying and unrealistic. Mechanical failure "on" could solve this problem. RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Bruce - 24-09-2017 The car is a monster. RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - dan bayford - 25-09-2017 1st race I quallied well got a great start for me as I am the world's worst off the line but it all went Pete tong after that I came round t1 and all he'll let loose and I regained the track last and with serious damage I limped back to my pit only to find viking there 2 mins later I got on my pit 186 secs later exited pit 2 laps down in last fort through to 17th and no reverse grid benefits second race started 18th finish 6th really good result for last orders but could have been 5th if it wasn't for the crash at t1 and I held back andllllllltook a leisurely stroll lap one but still ended up with da mage how
RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - deecee52 - 25-09-2017 These cars are big so there is not a lot of spare room on the grid for diving around , its better to hold your line until the first corner , get sorted then get racing , the old adage about not winning a race but loosing it at the first corner definately applies with these . In both races i got a good start initially but in race 1 the car in front was slow off so i had to back off and in race 2 the car in front just didnt move so i had to stand on the brakes , this caused Dave Hart to hit me and then that just rippled back up the grid causing problems further back . This problem appears worse in the reverse grid races maybe we should rethink using this format for powerfull cars where things happen quickly . RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Edvvc - 25-09-2017 Quali: Wasn't able to reproduce my time in practice so had to settle for 3rd. Impressive pole from Lee. Race1: Kept my head down at the start but managed to keep David Hart honest for a while, but after a few laps I made a mistake in the kink and lost ground then it was time for my pit stop. I think it's when the climb into the pits levels off that encourages exceeding the pit limit, but I did and incurred a penalty which I served the next lap. From then it was damage limitation but I managed to catch David Coyne and we had a nice battle in the closing laps. Finished fourth. Race 2: Ramon moved right at the start and I moved alongside then passed, then narrowly avoided Ricky exiting the track. Luck was definitely on my side. Following Andi and ricknau I knew any overtaking would be easier now than when the Daves arrived and thankfully passing was possible after a bit of patience. From there it was hotlapping while watching the gap while wondering how raphy42 could be in the lead. Impressive pole from Lee. Thank God for backmarkers otherwise you would have had me , good fun though ;D RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - bullwinkle - 25-09-2017 Raphy did not pit will be DQ RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Dimitris Papps - 25-09-2017 1st race, started 8th,at the end of the long straight missed brakes and hit Andy from the back, sorry, and hell broke loose... Rejoined from the last places made some passes, and had fight with Rick. Lap 6 pits for me in order the undercut to Rick to work and it did! In front of him when he rejoined from his pits and finished 9th,not so bad. ![]() 2nd race, started 2nd and had a good fight with Rick. ![]() Lap 2 and at T1 made a pass to Rick but at T2 went wide to the grass and lost many places.Something strange happened between me and S.Dancourt, dont know how he hit me and i went to the wall but i continued and after the kink i saw M.Fisk and J.Cook in the middle of the track after a collision trying to recover but the speed i was in that time didnt help to avoid nor brake efficiently so...big crash and me...dead... That was the end of race 2 ![]() My big mistake was in 1st race where i didnt brake sooner, sorry again. This car is fantastic,a monster, and i will be more careful in the future

RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - ricikrick - 25-09-2017 Qually - only 14th . 1/2 second more would have made all the difference but not to be. Race1 - good start and missed all the contact action 7th by turn 1, picked up some damage after a few laps so that determined my pitstop but i was upto 5th by then, after pitstop was still 8th or 9th hoping many would still be pitting in front of me, made it back upto 5th which should be 4th,,,thanks Raphy So great race for me ,one of my better results ;-) Race 2 - Less said the better started 5th (should have been good) but dissapointment as someone crashed into me (but little damage) now only 14th made no headway then again knocked off track (much damage) so pitted also 85seconds for repairs made a few places back by the end iwas only 13th-----normal service resumed RE: PORSCHE 917 LEAGUE - ROUND 1 - ROAD AMERICA - REPORTS - Mauro - 26-09-2017 (if you like) some statistics after first 2 races:
