Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to our 2018 spring season.
In this league we will race the BT20. This classic car has a great balance between speed and car control. Great to race around the best classic tracks.
This second round will take place at Oulton Park. Bumpy, narrow and very dangerous. The slightless mistake will bring you against the walls and ruin all your chances in this race.

SR4L wishes you good luck for the season.

I've adjusted the time-table trying to avoid the freezes we are sometimes having around 19:45 GMT that many times happen by the end of race 1.
We should be able to avoid it by finishing a few minutes earlier. Race1 should start by 19:05 GMT. If needed, practice session will be early finished by the admin so the qualifying session starts as scheduled.

I don't know if other drivers using clutch+manual gears are having this same problem I'm having here.
I've done some practice online, with little rubber on track. When shifting up on the exit on some bumpy corners I'm having big issues with rear tires getting a sudden wheelspin and having big diffculties trying to have the car under control.
I'm not sure but I guess drivers using autoclutch will avoid this problem. The moment I shift up and fully release the clutch while pressing full throttle while in bumps make the rear tires to spin and the tail to wander out of control.
This has happend to me mainly on three places: The back straight (change from uphill to downhill while going from 4th gear to 5th), at the following left hander and also turning left heading for the finish line.
I think this has something to do with clutch delay. Doing a quick gear up change makes for the delay to end just as I lifted the clutch, as clutch is already lifted, the sim does a sudden clutch engaging causing to bring all engine power straight to the tires with no delay.
I don't I'm explaining myself properly, but it is as if I changed gear without lifting up throttle due to that delay, causing that sudden car reaction.

I hope having more rubber on track will slightly help.

Its the same for autoclutch Georgias , these cars dont have a lot of traction , i got round it by a mix of softer springs , less power on diff , rear toe and camber . The bumps and the torque fight one another .

I will have to work on that. I hope there'll be a good rubbered track by friday night.

RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT20 League - Round 2 - Oulton Park - Ricknau - 20-03-2018

I've put in a fair amount of practice offline. Not real fast but gaining and getting more consistent. Then I think to give online practice a go. Maybe help rubber-in the track. Suddenly I spin on every turn and rise and fall of the road! Ugh! Total crash fest! So whatever you guys are sensing about spins and clutch control I think is totally due to lack of rubber, which you mentioned.

So... as much as I think it is the plan to have the track rubber-in throughout the week by turning laps, I just can't waste what little mid week time I have to sliding and crashing. I'm back to offline with heavy preset rubber thinking that will be more representative of the track at Sunday pre-race.

I can see I'm not the only one swearing corner after corner.

Heavy fuel load is a factor as well. "Road hugging weight" doesn't help on the bumps.

I know i am not around much anymore. But when i enter the server during the week to put in some practise laps and add some rubber the server is almost like gost town. Where we some years ago had great fun also during the week with lots off people on-line. So please try and do your practise on-line would be my advise.

About this track, last night i did for the first time some laps and i found it perfectly driveable....not easy but drivable for sure. Thing i don't like at all is fuel usage multiplier.....60ltr for 4 laps o_O

Just people tell when you usually join to practice.

I just practiced it with race fuel, so I will have to test how the car feels when lighter.

Don't worry mate, after a couple hundreds practice laps I revised my objective to "finish the first lap of each race before totaling the car". Hopefully I won't ruin anybody's race but I am not too worried about that, I expect all the field to have distanced me by turn 1.

RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - BT20 League - Round 2 - Oulton Park - thmxvr - 25-03-2018

I rectify, after even more practice I revised my personal objective to 'finish the race'. It will be tough and finishing position is not important, but it might just be possible.
