RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - gorgias1976 - 10-12-2018 3 Important things for this race: - Pit exit. When exiting the pits, always stick to the right of the main straight. Drivers on track are recomended to on the left lane through the pit lane exit area, that will also be helpful to get a better braking path for turn 1. - Heavy damage. If having a big crash that causes one or more o fthe wheels to get ripped, please exit the race instead of trying to go back to the pits. - Race timer. Race will have a 150 second timer instead of the usual 30 seconds. As you may know, there's is some kind of bug in rFactor2 that causes some drivers to be kicked from the server when session switches. If this happens to you as the warmup switches to race, you will still have time to rejoin the server. Also, drivers can use this 150 seconds to practice starts. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - Ricknau - 14-12-2018 Will the marshals be monitoring the harbor chicane for short cutting? There may be a few solo accidental occurrences but also some forced by racing incidents. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - Edvvc - 14-12-2018 About this 150 second timer before the race starts, how do I practice my start when clicking 'Race' puts me on the grid? I haven't tried it but I would have thought pulling away before the lights go out results in a penalty. Then if you click race again you will be put back in the grid and won't get a penalty. You can do that as many times as longs as the timer is above zero. Anyway, after a busy week with no practice, I'll get back begin the wheel this night or maybe tomorrow early morning. I'll make sure rfactor 2 hasn't changed any of that feature. That's generous and I like it. Is that number an option that the race admin can set? gorgias1976, post: 26268, member: 8 Wrote:Remember, if you are cutting the chicane but slow down so you lose time, that way many times you won't get the warning. That's interesting. I didn't know that was a feature. I often see the warning before I get to Tabac. I'll think I'll experiment with it. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - Ricknau - 16-12-2018 So after experimenting I see that "3 warnings and it's a 10 second Stop Go penalty" is the game default ...and we're going with that. But I don't think the "slow down so you lose time" will exempt you from the penalty. Is the game that smart? RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - Fergy - 16-12-2018 It won't. It's one extra thing that makes this race one of the hardest this season. At all cost, don't cut. It will pay off in the end. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life - 1976 F1 Season - Round 6 Montecarlo - gorgias1976 - 16-12-2018 If you feel you're not going to make the chicane, try doing it straight as slow as possible instead of rushing the first kerb, that normally won't give you the warning. |
