Over the last few years there has been a Wed Evening Endurance championship and while it has been regularily attended, the numbers attending have not been great.
So in an effort to try something different the proposed format for the forthcoming season will no longer be a 60 min endurance race but instead a short sprint race (15 mins) followed by a "feature" race of 30 mins.
Qualy for the sprint race will be a single flying lap affair and grid positions for the feature race will be the reverse finishing order from the sprint race. Multipliers will be set so that sprint races can be done without stopping but will use a nearly a full tank so the weight change throughout the race will come into effect. As for the feature race there will need to be a fuel stop but tyres will be optional depending on wear.
Come the championship itself there will likely be additional points for both pole and fastest race lap.
We're going to try out the format in a few Wed night fun races with qualy commencing 19:45 UK time so if anyone about on Wed nights please stop in and give it a try.
First race is at Rouen and the server is already up for anyone wanting to practice.

In my case it's a time issue. Not having it to race mid week. If I could, I'd preffer doing longer endurance races.

I jumped on the server as soon as my family would let me but failed to note the format which was why I had to abandon the feature race. The sprint race was fun though. A real challenge to finish without pitting or running out of fuel.

Sadly did not make it home soon enough. The few training laps still were fun with this car.

Thanks to those that turned up last night, it was good fun.
We are going to run the same track and cars next Wed but this time with a X3 multplier on the fuel (last night was X4) as the sprint race was just a bit too tight on the fuel.
It was interesting to note that that fuel was not an issue in the practice runs I did however it was in the race...there must be a sub conscious "push harder" when running against real opponents.
Anyway same format next week, 15 min sprint then a 30 min feature race......hope to see you there

Yes there is another "test race" night tomorrow (23rd October) for those interested. Same format but fuel and tyre multipliers set to X3 wchi should eliminate fuel saving in race 1 but still effect the weight balance over the distance of the race.

The Mid week test events are going well and proving popular. There is another one set for Kyalami on Wed 30th Oct 19.
