There's this sort of semi-transparent sphere right behind the cars reflecting parts of the scenery. I will tinker with the graphical settings to see if I can remove it, but in the meantime if anyone figures out which setting works, let me know ![]() Yesterday I also had a freeze of a second or so and saw either Tim or Ricky or Tobias complain about it as well (sorry, can't remember who said it ). Hopefully that's not a recurring theme on this track :/Lastly, what are the cutting rules here? It's fairly easy to cut a large part of the first chicane by jumping the curbs, as well as running wide over the curbs leading onto the back straight

RE: Sim Racers 4 Life – F1 1979 - Round 4 - Australia - Tygernoot - 22-01-2020 We all seem fair racers here, I was hoping we could all agree to keeping a wheel on track, and not excessively jump the entire chicane ![]() I fear it’ll be a chicane cutting contest otherwise, with the risks of crashing, and not to mention the danger of lapping other cars around this area. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life – F1 1979 - Round 4 - Australia - Keeper - 22-01-2020 The sphere being described sounds like the heat haze effect which isn't implemented properly. In your player.JSON file change the "Heat FX Fade Speed" to 0 which disables the attempt to draw heat haze. (Serious question.) Guess we need sausage curbs ![]() Otherwise I'm fine as well with cutting it, I just find it a bit of a shame we're all blatantly going to be jumping the chicane rather than following the track (plus it increases the risk of crashing there)
RE: Sim Racers 4 Life – F1 1979 - Round 4 - Australia - Fergy - 26-01-2020 Please, If you have not read the special rules for this event yet you can do so here http://Round 4 Special Rules Make sure you like the post so I know who has and who has not read them. Also, you're online and see someone who may not have seen this post please point them in the right direction. It all helps make for better racing. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life – F1 1979 - Round 4 - Australia - argl - 26-01-2020 Sorry, but where can I even like the post? I did not find that function. I will certainly go with the rules, but I think this is asking for problems for no real reasons. Policing such a thing is not worth it. If the track design does not enforce it in some way, leave it open. My $0.02. I did not find that function. Thanks for you thoughts, always welcome. In this case we have to go with what's best for keeping the racing in order. If we make it a free for all it can get very messy, especially post race with many complaints. I managed to watch every driver race some laps and they all drove the chicane with great sportsmanship. Impressive and helps maintain SR4L as a great place to race. RE: Sim Racers 4 Life – F1 1979 - Round 4 - Australia - argl - 27-01-2020 I lacked confidence attacking the chicane, but I had a stream of issues coming at me, culminating in an embarrassing dnf. Its all behind us now, and even if I dont agree with you on everything, let me thank you for running this championship in a very smooth way, deciding when it matters and still be open for discussion when there is time and opportunity. Very professional, even aspirational! That said, I had an abysmal race. But 100% my fault, at some point it totally fell apart. I‘ll skip that coffe next time. Congrats to all survivors including my team mate. |
