I'm getting up early to test it out, can't wait. Hope to see you all on track. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Edvvc - 24-02-2021 Great news! This car is a honey. I just hope it isn't too glitchy. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - DJCruicky - 26-02-2021 Nice time on the live timing Mr. Ed Pond. Think we may as well hand you the winning trophy now if you doing lap times like that .
RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Edvvc - 26-02-2021 Thanks, David but it's still early days and I'm sure yourself, DC and J-P are going to be winning races. In the past I've got good laptimes on the board early then fallen down with racecraft and keeping it on the black stuff when it comes to the race. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Myles (Mr Fox) - 27-02-2021 Has the car received an update to fix the whacky steering issue? In offline practice sessions (at least) with AI cars present the steering (with my SC2 pro) would go into mad-oscillation mode - the only workaround I could find was to either select a private test session or to practice/race against opponents driving anything other than the 73 RSR... RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Edvvc - 27-02-2021 I've done a fair amount of offline driving in it and have never had a problem with the steering. (fanatec csw 2.5). RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - DJCruicky - 27-02-2021 Best way to answer your question Myles is drive in our test race tomorrow and report back. Maybe just set your force feed back lower? RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Ratus - 27-02-2021 Hello all, havin realy fun driving this 911 '73. Did i understand it right, you are going for a Champopnship/Season with this car? Are there more informations? I am very interested and sunnday's are perfect for me. Thank you in advance. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Edvvc - 27-02-2021 Hi, Ratus. Yes it seems we are doing a championship in this car. I think the next step is this Sunday's fun race where we will test the proposed racing format and the car mod to see if it will give good racing and you are welcome to join. Anything to low with this mod would be difficult. 620 on the wheel and 620 in game for me. It's also the nature of the mod I feel having a short wheel base. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - lamer of fortune - 28-02-2021 Welcome Ratus and CU this evening RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Fergy - 28-02-2021 Great turn out. 18 for the sprint race and 15 for the main race. With some luck we can have big grids again. Let us know what your thoughts. RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - deecee52 - 01-03-2021 Some great racing here last night with battles throughout the field , this mod looks like its going to give some intense racing , i am very much looking forwards to the season opener . For me i learned quite a bit about the car so hopefully i can annoy ED a little Great to see some new and some old faces , i hope your going to join us in the Championship , I have a feeling its going to be exciting . RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - DJCruicky - 01-03-2021 Was nice races. Ed was too fast in 1st but I in 2nd still had him in sight the whole race. DeeCee put me under pressure at one point but I managed to keep him behind. The 2nd race I seemed to go backwards with the heaver fuel tank finished 5th there. As Fergy says above please give feedback. At the end of the race in chat a few drivers reported some problems. Quote:Tobias Schaugg: still getting lags from the CPU If you could give us any more details what you uncounted in the races. DC what was the weird things? All fine on my end. To all, this is your chance to report any problems to help Fergy decide whether it will be this car we are driving for a season. DJC RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - bullwinkle - 01-03-2021 only problem was my driver was slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RE: Pre Season Event - '73 Porsche RSR at Road America - Edvvc - 01-03-2021 I didn't experience any problems that affected racing but I did see some weird movements of other cars in the monitor as if I or they were lagging badly, or maybe due to the server. Occasionally other cars render in extremely low detail but it's rare and doesn't affect racing. On the plus side the car is a dream to drive and seems to respond to my inputs very well. Normally I prefer to drive with manual clutch, braking with right foot but go faster with auto clutch and braking with left foot to get more overlap of throttle and brake. With this car it seems significantly faster to use manual clutch and brake with my right foot for some reason. The sprint race presented a curious situation where I got a drive through penalty for cutting the track too many times but the high pit speed limit and straight pit lane meant I took it flat out causing no penalty whatsoever and would have been dangerous had anyone been pitting at that time. |
