RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - DJCruicky - 01-04-2021 Nice car
RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - giorgetto giaguaro - 01-04-2021 Wow, it sounds delicious RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - DJCruicky - 02-04-2021 Skin templates on the first post of the authors thread here:- https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/gtpc-1984-edition.64732/ RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - Fergy - 03-04-2021 What an awesome car. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - J-P SImard - 03-04-2021 I just bought Quest 2 and haven't tried Rfactor2 yet but think I'll try to run this race with it. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - Edvvc - 05-04-2021 Well done DJ for winning both races. I couldn't keep it on the track but have only myself to blame - the car is great. Grip level feels low and it will swap ends the moment the rear wheels get a sniff of grass, but it is very rewarding to get right and the overall balance is very good. Together with an engine that sounds fantastic and can be revved really high (if you increase the limiter) this is a car I would very much like to race again in. One of my favourites. I also found the default setup to be quite bad (unlike the Porsche RSR) so it needs a bit of work before raceday to get it dialed in, but it does get dialed in. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - Stuartd1233 - 05-04-2021 The first race was a lonely one for me, I got caught up in someone's spin and I ended up in the wall and then later spun on my own terms; the closest person to me front and behind was around 15 seconds. The second race was worse, my pace was off and my setup was pretty poor and the only battles I had was with JP and they were pretty one sided. It was good fun but I should have put more effort into my setup RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - J-P SImard - 05-04-2021 I really sucked in this race. I didn't practice enough and was skidding all over this difficult car. Well done to the winner. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - Keeper - 05-04-2021 Yeah, I didn't turn a lap until 30 minutes before qualifying and it showed with some unforced errors. I have raced these cars before though, so it was just a matter of not having time on this track more than anything. I pretty much drive the default setup on them and it seems to be OK for me but I suck at setting up a car so what do I know? RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - DJCruicky - 05-04-2021 Thank you, it was a fun event. You know when you have passed the limit in these cars when you start to turn and it does not steer . Luckily that did not happen in my races. The wins were a big surprise .CU you all Tuesday night for some RSR fun. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - Keeper - 06-04-2021 Being able to pass you was a big surprise!! OK, it took like five corners side by side to get it done... fun! Then of course I had a half spin a lap or so later and darn near took you out. Derp. RE: Fun Event - BMW M1 at Belgium 1988 - deecee52 - 09-04-2021 The cars look and sound amazing but i think the handling sucks , if we could lower the spring rates and tyre pressures i think we would have a car you can throw around and fight with instead of tippytoeing around and just trying to stay on track , i reckon softer springs and tyres would drop laptimes around 3 - 5 secs at Spa . It may be worth asking the creators permission to create a version we can use in a league , i would love to race these for a season if they were nicer to drive , the sound gets the juices flowing . |
