Pitlane-entrance is where yellow line starts. Pitlane ends where the wall on the left ends, after the Battery Vault banner.

Racing rule for this race only:

Unless your pitting don't not cut the entrance of pit lane during the race.

You can cut the line at your own discretion after the pit entrance. Hitting a pitted car will see you disqualified from the race.

After your pitstop, please stay within the yellow line with all four wheels until pitlane has ended.

DJCruicky Wrote:A few things people need to know about SPA pits:-

When pitting:
The red arrowed pit box only appears if you have pressed the pit request button.
You must press the pit request button in good time. If you press it to late the pit crew don't have enough time to come out, you will not get the red box in the pitlane.
If you press it too soon, they will come out, give up waiting and go back in. Press button half lap to go is the best time to get crew ready.
When pitting drive within the 100kph speed limit right side of the yellow line. Don't drive at full speed down the left side of the yellow line then cut into your pit box.

When not pitting:
If you decide not to pit after requesting a pitstop, careful not to drive into the pit area or you will get a speeding ticket by the game. Cancel pit request is best thing to do.
When you are low on fuel the pit crew come out without you requesting pit, be careful this does not happen if you are cutting into the pit area at full speed or again the game will give you speeding ticket. Cancel this request with the pit request button.

Thanks Gorka, I'll add this to the 1st post so it's official. Smile

edit: I've added this line to racing rules for this race only: After your pitstop, please stay within the yellow line with all four wheels until pitlane has ended.

Cheers,

also what Gorka says in the F2 thread...
gorgias1976 Wrote:Talking about pits, careful with them, if you miss the entry by just a little, the pit "arrow" will disappear and nobody will be there waiting for you to change your tires and put fuel in your car.
...could be true too.

I don't have no 3D modding programs, so I asked Vittorio to load the track into his 3D-SimED3 and make screen shots of the pit entry and exit trigger points. Thanks V. These are the screen shots he took.

RE: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 10 Belgium - Hedlund - 22-01-2014

Looking forward to this event. Finally a real race track again Wink

The track update is great, especially the staggered grid and removal of white posts. I could live with the haybales, but they are really annoying when they are all over the track... And sometimes they freeze and you can drive right through them.

Only thing I doesn't like is that I'm suddenly 2 seconds slower, lol ??? Wink I don't think anyone else noticed less grip but I have done 15 laps today and I couldn't do better than 22.8. Maybe there are only a few small adjustments needed because it felt too understeery... But I still find it strange how I can feel such a big difference if the real road file is the same as with the old version. Is it?

What does the 3rd and 4th pics show? (that big white/black wall) Is that pit lane exit? I thought it ends where the yellow line ends?

RE: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 10 Belgium - DJCruicky - 22-01-2014

If you have been on the server lately, you should see we running an update mod to the track. Just click that Get Component button and it should auto download a 3 meg update.
This will give you an alt track with;-
Spaced out start grid with white posts and hay bails removed that always end up on the track. I know it's taking a bit away from the 60s, but not all of us can drive like Jim Clark. Should hope get more cars to the finish.

I'm happy how it turned out. First time we ran it, not one crash from anyone 1st lap.

Looks it, maybe the reason people getting speeding tickets last season. (needs testing)

Could I be the one to give you the Dope reward Smile. You were saying last night how slippery it was compared to old version. I did not like to say at the time, but you were driving the F1 car and not the F1B. Looking at the hotlaps you still have not drove the F1B on the new version. Dope reward, do you want that now or later m8? Big Grin

If the race next sunday will go like the training sessions 60% of the drivers will virtually die in the first lap :-\

edwin Wrote:If the race next sunday will go like the training sessions 60% of the drivers will virtually die in the first lap :-\

Maybe I was just lucky but I had no first lap incident at all today and I was starting from 9th most of the races. But I saw a few impatient drivers crash at Eau Rouge every time... I was lucky to avoid them.
We can only hope that there will be a different mentality when it's time for the real race. As long as it's just for fun and practice there will always be some drivers testing the limits Tongue And I don't mind that but the closer to race day we are, it would be nice to see cleaner starts (and races overall).

We have all the opportunities to a clean start with the new grid and removed haybales.

RE: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 10 Belgium - gorgias1976 - 23-01-2014

I want to practice too those race starts, but I don't have free time till the weekend.

Same here :/

RE: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 10 Belgium - DJCruicky - 24-01-2014

I'm sure Gorka don't need no practice. It took me a week just to beat his 1st day practice time.

In case anyone needs to know there are 15 pitting spots at this track.

I can confirm Pitlane exit is NOT at end of yellow line, but is in-fact further up the road. See Vittorio's pics where it is.

I would try fix that myself, but have no 3D-SimED3.

Was fun making the update. I did make small boob with making grid. 3rd place man on the grid has right wheels on yellow line. I never knew how slippery yellow lines were until I tried starting on it Big Grin. I'll let Gorka qually 3rd then Wink

I might post it over at ISI forums after the event. But I'll probably add another version to it first. 3 versions in one, Original, League Friendly and Rookie version. Rookie version would be same as League Friendly version but with the collision removed from the barb-wire fence posts. I've seem so many people kill their cars on them Big Grin.

RE: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 10 Belgium - Hedlund - 24-01-2014

That is a very strange place to have the pitlane exit. No mark or anything... I can imagine a lot of drivers will get drive-troughs for speeding Tongue

Sounds great DJ. But I think you should make the barb-wire fence and the posts non-collidable for all versions. Imagine a car plunge into those half-rotten posts in 300 kmh... They would be cut in half. Probably the driver would get his head cut off from the wire too, but at least the post can't make the car bounce back to track like it was a super-strong guardrail. Very dangerous when someone in front runs off track. At the moment, it's not a fence, it's like having a stone wall around the whole track. And when someone hit it, they go from 300 kmh to 0 kmh in 0.1 sec and no time to react for the driver behind.

Would be nice if those barb-wire posts could have the same resistance like the small white posts, or slightly stronger. But I guess that is not possible so imho it's better to have it non collidable. My opinion Smile

I was wondering why I was getting so out of shape when setting off!
