There's also a SimHQ version of modern spa which is quite good.

Yeah like Cosimo says I also come across this other version of modern Spa, it is only used internally at SimHQ however. It is a shame because although the standard rf2 spa is perfectly fine I liked that other one way better. I do not think they keep it unreleased in order so that they have it for themselves only, I think there is some other reason. It's made by a driver on SimHQ, I pm'd him a few weeks ago encouraging him to put it out as it is such a shame for rf2 generally especially with spa being one of the best tracks in the world. I think they will, but maybe not for a little while yet, the track is ready to go as it is but it seems he wants to make further improvements still, and got more interested in car modding in the meantime. But! Yet more new options appear to be materialising! http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/20119-Apex-Modding-Spa-2007?p=280932 Be great to have a modern spa for rf2 that really kicks arse.
Getting back on topic, the current spa is still 100% cool and so will this event be, great car and track combo! See you Sun.

Our races Nigel are always at the same time, no matter what.
This is a foolproof way to be sure people attend without checking and checking again for any changes and this has proved to work fine

I don't know what the hell was going on with my pits, 50+ seconds for tires and fuel.
I had overbudgeted fuel by about 20L but didn't think much. Had a good start from pole and comfy lead, just managing tires and having a slightly scary moment with a supremely slow backmarker (who got in the way in one of my qualifying laps, following the lap where Steve was in front of me and messed up the chicane killing my first would-be pole).
Anyway, just past the 30-minute marker I organize things to pit and find out I can't put in less fuel than scheduled. Ok. I come in slowly, lose about 5s on entry to avoid a penalty (also first time ever running this track as a race on rF2), I stop at the wrong stall as there's an arrow flashing for me. I lose about 4s again. Anyway, to my disbelief I see Steve take out 30s on that one lap I pitted and take the lead. I come out 25s behind.
I don't know what happened but near the end of the race I was dissatisfied. Maybe it was my pitstop that from entry to exit took well over a minute. But with perhaps 15 minutes or less to go I decided there was no point. I skipped pool, lunch, and F1 for this. I'm off to eat now.

I fuelled up at start and just took tyres Gui, 7 secs for tyres only. I was surprised a bit by Gui's speed and consistency, wd mate, the race was fun despite the poor turnout, first 30 mins Gui Me and David were all pretty close together, shame this clashed with the Canadian GP this was a very nice mod combo. Bad luck Gui I thought you did very well til it went south, thx all.

Wow, I was given 23 or 32s for tires alone, that was absurd.I got caught well off guard during the race by the no DRS at all, I had geared my car for it and I didn't realize until my final fifth of the race that by shifting into 6th I was actually losing speed, effectively running on 5 gears (which isn't good). So another bit of thing that went wrong, luckily this race didn't mean anything.
I agree the timing was very bad, I tried sticking out and not watching F1 but as you said Steve, bad timing. I was hoping for at least some on track battle but by lap 3 I was 5s ahead and 3rd place 2s behind and dropping. I lapped someone on the first few laps too, the grid was too small and extremely sparse in speed. I cannot imagine having done more than 3 laps of practice before connecting today would have done.
ps: Thanks for the server with this combo, by the way. This is the best rFactor 2 car and deserves a league somewhere (maybe Saturdays!).

I think I deserve the most absurd treatment by the Pit Crew.
I run into Tim as he breaked hard because he saw a front wing at the road.
I went to pits and they repaired my front end that was damaged badly.
When I came to track again I found out that my steering was completely off, (wheel tilted away) and they hadnt fixed it.
I looked in the damage thing and no damage was announced, so I couldnt fix it, so I drove all race with a bent wheel

That blows... With myself though, I had absolutely no damage. I can't comprehend the days I spent in the pit that killed my race, extremely disappointed as noticeable from the previous post.

Perhaps the server was set to prevent suspension damage repair? There is a setting for that, it sounds like that's what happened to Nikos.

I seem to remember that 2014 Renault suspension is not repairable in Pit stops, will be in a post by Denstijro somewhere on ISI forum
