Regarding Ricks DQ in first race, this is what the restul file tells:
<Penalty et="332.8">rick nauman received Stop/Go penalty, 10s, 0laps. Result: penalties=1, 1st=Stop/Go,10s</Penalty>

Should be around lap 3 or 4 if someone could take a look at the replay. Rick mentioned he hit a wall very hard so probably that triggered the cut detection which resulted in a Stop/Go penalty.

At the last turn of lap 3 (the left hairpin) I locked up and over shot it going all the way through the gravel onto the kink of the other layout. Did a u turn and headed back down the pit straight.

Then on lap 5 I went into the grass at T4 (Old Hairpin) running all the way to the old aqua-duct looking stone works. That definitely could be considered short cutting but obviously with no advantage gained. Didn't hit anything that time.

A few laps later I went off at same place and creamed the wall. The game soon said I must pit for damage but I ignored it because the car felt fine. Then immediately after passing the pit entry it kicked me out.

As I told Christoph in the post race chat I really don't care that I was DQ'd. My race was in the tank anyway so I just waited for race 2. (I like that we have the 2 race format.) For me it's just a curiosity because all I ever saw on my screen was something like "pit now due to damage" maybe a lap before I was kicked out at the end of lap 7. I would not have thought the game would do that if damage was set to zero like I thought it was. I didn't see a stop and go warning though I could have missed it prior to all my other off track excursions and wall smacking. It seems plausible that my over shoot and recovery on lap three may be the triggering event and I was allowed a few laps to comply.

It seems like there is always more text displayed in the corner of my screen than I care or need to see. I think I will disable chat so only necessary things pop up. Like "pit requested" "pit team ready" and oh yeah... "stop and go penalty"!

when you are on the last lap of available time to stop for a penalty a message comes up thats says 'pit now to avoid' a penalty - i have never seen a message that says 'pit now' for any other reason in rf2, damage or otherwise .....put your glasses on Rick

Yeah you may be right. You know how it is trying to read and race and contemplate all at the same time. I hate it! Oh well I guess it doesn't matter unless it happens again. But if it does I sure won't ignore it.
