USF2000 League - Round 4 - Laguna Seca - Reports

As my home team Olympiakos was playing at the final, European Basketball Champions League, (we lost :S) I have no idea what happened at the race today.

Place your reports here racers so I know what happened there.

Sorry teamie, but I simply cant miss Olympiakos at a final match.

well we missed you old sole and DJ and Harri.
Qual went ok I kept getting faster but darn everyone else was getting faster "faster". Qual 8th not bad for me lots of fast guys missing.
Race 1 had to dodge some stuff early got passed by all got back to 10 th but best I could do.
Race two started on pole and held on to first for about 8 or 9 laps till Kiko got me and was still second till going in to the uphill left I had a freeze and it made me hit the curb and a little flip let two guys go by me finished 4th I think my best ever finish Yea me lol

Very little practice for this event having my mind in the Indy500 instead of the race.

Qualy

Times were improving as session progressed but a 1 23.8 wasn't enough to get close to Kristijan super times. At least enough for second place.

Race 1
--------
Everything was going fine in second place. Having Hector close behind but being able to hold him tanks to the track dificultness to overtake.
At the end of lap 9 I went for my pitstop but I was too fast on pit entry and therefore I got a drive through penalty. That put me in third place and I remained there for the rest of the race.

Race 2
--------
Disastreous race. I'd swear I had set first gear for the start but when I lifted the clutch I was still in neutral. Quickly set first gear but that costed me 2 places in turn 1.
I was in the traffic so I decided to do my pitstop at lap 3 to try something different and see if I could gain some places driving on my own and then defend by the end of the race.
But as I had my tires changed I didn't realise I was in second gear so when I was accelerating waiting for the rev lights to turn on I realised I was already too fast. That costed me a stop & go penalty and lose all chances in the race finally ending in 6th place.

D/Q for wrong way......

2nd race good start made loads of progress
clean race with late pit stop
but got pit lane speeding drive through on exit damb
but still finished 7th so not bad overall
