SR4L Needs your Help - Use it or Lose it !
#1
The first round of the mid week challenge was last night and had to be abandoned as only two drivers showed up Sad

The Championship has been modified for this year away from Endurance events to "short" races to accommodate those who are not fans (or their bladders don't allow) of long events. There is also single lap qualy and reverse grids however unless drivers turn up, there is simply no point in continuing.

The SR4L ethos is very much still there racing Historic cars at historic events (where possible) and the championship is "open" thus doesn't require registration allowing drivers pick and choose events or do the entire season.

The next event is Le Mans (The Grand Circuit) on 4th December with a practice/fun event next Wednesday evening. In addition to my posting both here and the simracers facebook page, please feel free to promote the championship and invite others be it leagues or individuals as you see fit.

SR4L needs your support and help and without it we don't have drivers and with no drivers means no races.

Use it or lose it

Thanks in advance for your support

if it could be useful

as i know one of best place for promote leagues and race is official rf2 discord section: https://discord.gg/2c8bmA
rf2 official forum is a good place too

p.s. another good thing is unpin down 2017/2018 league thread from dedicated section http://www.simracers4life.com/forum/inde...ements.58/
no one admin could do that?

p.s.2. i speak for myself -not much important-.
unfortunately i have few time for rf2 leagues (i'm dedicating my free time helping in F1 1967 mod project and other historic mod/tracks). for me best race format could be a single 40 min race and Fuel Multiplier x1 or x2 (i haven't time for training). in that case i could try to find one hour free for try to join

I have long wished I could race with you guys but living in the worst timezone for gaming really sucks. I don't know how Fergy does it.

Thanks Mauro, will give them a go. We are also working on tidying up the forum but as you say we need admin rights to do that.

Shame to hear, but I guess somewhat understandable with everyone living busy lives and in different time zones...

I would be interested in joining these races, but with only a certain amount of spare time available to race (let alone practice), I have to make choices on what (not) to do.

Therefore I’m only focusing on the F1 league for now, even though throwing these 917’s around some more tracks would be good fun.

Things were so much different 15 years ago when I was a student and had plenty of time Smile

If I may just add my 2 cents.......(maybe getting yelled at or become even more unloved, but that's okay)

Isn't there a matter of people getting bored with a lot of the same?
Maybe it's not, but to me it looks that way; I come here after a while and see the same cars being used on a lot of the same tracks.
Howston.......how long are you guys driving this?
Every time I stop by, I see a lot of the same. Agreed; there is not to much choice if you want to keep it "old", but cars from the 2000 era are 20 years old too by now Wink I don't see a lot of them.

If I'm mistaken; ignore.

For me it's the opposite.
The main reason I love the portal is for the use of 60s and 70s cars.
It is the peculiarity that distinguishes sr4l from the other portals/leagues (full of races with more recent cars)

True, to each his own.
It was just an idea that came across MY mind; maybe more -or potential- members feel like that.
Ow well, if thoughts are there it could be the case, a poll would answer that. But that's up to the people running the show.

As you all say each to his own. My preference to historics is the lack of aero and the danger/challenge of the old unforgiving tracks but as navigator says because we are limited in choice it can appear as the same old cars/tracks again.

Unfortunately due to the lack of support the Wed night mid week championship has been abandoned due to lack of support......however we will try and continue to run events of a Wed evening (8PM) just for fun. One idea that has popped up is we run the same tracks and cars as the Weekend league thus the "fun" event becomes practice for the weekend league......

Anyway there will still be something to drive on Wed evenings if anyone is about.....
