It's the Pre Season Fun Event. This time we race the same first track of our coming Lola T290 Season, Bathurst. We will be driving the Megane, lots of grip, great handling, the best way to begin a new season.

Looking forward to do some racing again. Tried the Megane today and it's a nice car, although it becomes quite unstable when you take some rear wing off.. Managed to get into the 2:07s but no lap was 100%.

Shame that the gear ratio is not adjustable. The engine has so much more to give but rev limiter ruins it.. Overtaking must be almost impossible? Maybe one can take advantage of slipstream before both hit rev limiter, but probably you'll only end up side-by-side, making it quite easy to defend position?

Holy Cow! Not until I put some AI on this track did I realize how NARROW it is! Sure won't be any 3-wides. Even 2-wide on a simple over take could be dicey.

might as well state now - I'm Sorry and No Problem....

also, I noticed funny warping happening. I was following Tobias down the hill and he was on top of the gurad rail, over it, thru it. so I see the road ahead open and I go there....... NOPE! in reality that is where he was.. (look above Tobias - I'm Sorry) the reason I am stating this, if you see some strang stuff happening in front of you - be careful.......... also 2.06 will be broken into........ NOT by ME, oh I can do a 2.06 - just get to the 2.06 point in my lap and hit the escape button....... maybe that's how they are doing it :o

How can you lap 2.07s?
I've just joined online, done a few laps and only get a 2.11, 4 seconds slower, that's an enormouse difference.

Second race massive lag at second lap, had to leave I was sitting duck.

For me it worked perfectly, except from that Gorka's car lagged a bit in race 2.

Yes, great turnout. And most of the new guys did their pitstop too? I had a nice battle with Gorka during whole second race! It took me 4 laps to catch him, and then I overtook him but made the exactly same mistake I did i first race, but managed to overtake him again before pitstop. Then he was smart and carried full tank while I refilled during pitstop and lost a couple of seconds. So I had to chase him again but managed to take back the lead. I made a mistake on final lap so he was breathing down my neck, but luckily I stayed calm 8)

no lag for me in both races. First race i did well considering my ability's. Second race i made to many mistakes due to overdriving the car.
for sure it was a fun race tho because i had fun all the way.

My internet connection was a bit laggy during some times of the day. Pings to google were between 2-3 tenths fo a second.
When I joined the ping remained around 1 thenth. Probably it went bad again for race 2.
On race one I was approaching turn 2 side by side with the car starting in 4th place. He did a little movement to the left at the braking and threw me against the barrier. I think I rejoined around 20th.
Second race was a great battle with Rikard, when I overtook John for the lead I just hoped he was slowed down by other cars but on the second lap he was already in second place. His car was really fast on the straights, he probably had less wing but he was also very quick on the corners, nothing I could do to hold him.
I don't remember having such a sweaty race since the Eve F1 season (sadly the BT20, T280, Eve F2 and T290 are not that demanding to drive).

a request or idea - Please change car on server 2 to the lola, that way people who want to practice at Bathurst could do so without having to forward thru list of tracks. and add this rubber file, it is one I took from us practicing at Bathurst, it is NOT AI generated.. I will message you also to cover the bases..........

but i also thought if 3 guys were at Brizana and 3 guys wanted to be at Bathurst, the change could handle them all....

I think servers should have 1 track only, that way newcomers wont have to download lots of things.

I agree. It's fun with track rotation on a public server, but now it's the week before our first race and normally we have only one track in rotation for practice purpose.
