SIM RACERS 4 LIFE - MULTI-CLASSICS SEASON - FINAL ROUND - BRIANZA Reports
#1
Lets hear you reports.

Mine is rather short.

Managed to qualify just ahead of Nikos buy 300 of a second, the race was on for the points.

Race start there was a few crashes on lap one managed to avoid them all, sitting just behind Nikos all the way around the main circuit then overtook him on the banking. Could see I was pulling away from him Big Grin.

Crossed the start finish line at the end of lap 1 in P6 with a two second lead on Nikos this was it let the race begin, got round the first corner and on the fast left hander just before lesmos Edwin was on the grass he pulled onto the track just in front of me I had no where to go at that speed. Lost two wheels and had no drive. Race over Sad

Sorry everyone involved in my smash, things were looking good for a change, too good. My cat decided that it was an opportune time to get on my lap but he's old and he missed his footing, sticking his claws in the tender part of the inner thigh. I jumped, yelled and lost control of the car. Scared the living spit out of the cat too.

Wow, looks like this race was a disaster for most of the field.

Unbelievably, I was eliminated 10 seconds into it. Practiced quite a bit. Got my times down to 16's which got me 4th on the grid, which is on the left of a two car row. Great I thought, I'll miss the inevitable mayhem at Curva Grande. But on the start, with Dan Minges to my right, I got good traction and was following the front row. Working the wheel under heavy acceleration I slowly drifted just a few feet to the right (a car width?). Seemed like an insignificant amount of drift but unfortunately at that same time Dan was drifting to his left. And so, while seemingly in perfect control, we touched (locked wheels I think) and drove each other into the rail on the left. Game over for me. The car was undriveable. No way I could drive all the way around to the pits. Then the pit stop would have been 3 minutes.

As I watched the race for a few minutes I saw crash after crash. I think half the field was eliminated by lap 4. Pitiful...

I was very disappointed. Mad actually, until I watched a replay. I'd have to chalk my and Dan's crash as an unfortunate racing incident.

NP Ed,

I have watched the replay and when you pulled out you couldn't of seen me coming round the corner at that speed. Typical racing accident just a shame it was at such an important one for both of us.

Lots of body parts lying everywhere on track, a true carnage.

Managed to miss it all by using Swire as my shield, Im chicken, I know.

I had a really bad moment when I was pushed on the armco, I got stuck, but after trying and trying I managed to pit, 300secs pit!!!

I sweared a lot and loudly, I went downstairs, explained to wife why I was cursing, went to the toilet, fed the cats, took a beer from the fridge, and still had time to spare.

Luckily most were dead or dying when I got back in the race again, so I drove calmly to a so sweet 4th place 8)

I'm sorry for my rant in the shouting area :-[

i was sooooo frustrated Sad

In practice i was struggling all the time and kept adjusting my setup instead of focusing on the driving. Last Friday i met Harri on track and she gave me a setup for the Spark. I tried it and tweaked a little here and there and all of a sudden i was able to lap, not to fast, but consistent.

Quali went okayish but i was focusing on taking it nice and easy because a 1 hour race at this track would be demanding and i wanted to push on the second half of the race.

Race:

Easy on the start and right in front of me Dan Minges and Rick Nauman where the first victims.
In the braking zone for lesmos, i think it was Dan Bayford who out braked me on the inside, but all of a sudden Ricky Keene came on the outside and hit me. leaving me with damage but the car was feeling okayish. So i decided to carry on. Following Billy who spun at parabolica and next thing i saw was Cookie chopped into 2 and Harri with severe inner thigh damage Wink
Managed to finish lap 1 but in lap 2 curva grande i lost it......still don't know if it was me or the damage playing a role and tbh it doesn't matter anymore fact is i lost it and hit the armco.
I hit the armco hard more damage but i could have made it to the pit......me thinks
Trying to re-enter the track i got hit, as it turned out it was Paul, lost a wheel hit escape and lost my common sense posting in the shouting area being mad at whole the world but mostly at myself.

Glad this season has come to an end, i want to forget about the spark real soon.

Thanks all for making this happen and DJ enjoy your victory and fizzy vinegar.....wait it was called different....ehm
