On my side i had a good start and I was able to stand behind Ed who seemed to have handling problems. After a few laps I was able to pass and managed to keep myself very close to the leaders.

I had no idea of their strategy and I did not know if I was going to change my tires when I stopped, but I quickly saw that if I wanted to fight against Gorka for the victory, I had to put the gaz for the rest of the race without changing tires.

Unfortunately for him he had a big accident just as I was coming out of the wells behind him, and I took the first place with 20 laps to go. Daniel was 18 seconds behind but I had tires really worn, but I managed that lead to win the race. I was lucky but I will take it, it was a long time.

This victory is special on the circuit or Gilles Villeneuve is dead, I must admit that I often thought of him while passing in de la Butte corner.

Thank you all specially to the admins to make this possible.

You top guys amaze me! How in the heck can you not change tires at 2X wear?... and stay fast and in control!

No problem. It was so minor I didn't even remember it! Had to check the replay. Letting guys through in a curve is going to have a little extra risk but it all came out alright.

We should have restarted for Cruickshank.

Dave Coyne was killed by a track failure.

Nice video Dan, I guess it's just not perfect yet.

Maybe it is something we can look at if someone can't get back into the room. I left the room in the warm up and it took longer than normal to get back in.

You cant see the fence in the video , did you not see it Dan ?
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

It looks to me like you were in the middle of the track and hit some invisible immovable object which threw you into the air. I saw you drive into the fence after your car landed. Looked like the fence grabbed you. Happens a lot in many different tracks, for me mostly at vintage Belgium.

Some of the cars are designed with a virtual frame which extends below the visible part of the car model. If that part touches some part of the track a maximum impact is generated. If you have ride height too low that improves the odds. Likewise tracks sometimes have invisible immovable objects in various locations. Usually that is a mistake that passed by the developer. Both of these issues are the result of hastily made, poorly tested mods.

On my replay Dan hits a closing section vertically in the middle of the track present since the beginning of the race but that I did not see during the race.
