Sim Racers 4 Life - Lola T280 Season - Round 2 - Sebring

Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to Season 5 of our Historic's League. After four seasons driving open wheelers, this season we take a litle step forward in history and get to drive the historic Lola T280, a car that provides both a powerfull engine and adjustable wings.
This second event will take place on March the 1st in Sebring, a track well known for its endurance racing. Sebring is one of the most complete tracks out there and will demand drivers to show their best skills. Also a well balanced car is a must in this continuous combination of slow/fast corners and straights.
The event will be a single 1 hour race with day/night transition (race will start during daylight and will end at night).
Please, remember to have a button/key assigned for the Headlights, drivers not turning them on at night will get black flagged and therefore disquilified (rFactor2 rules).
Also remember that flashing lights (turning them on/off) is not allowed either.

Special pit exit instructions:

Theres a double white line at the exit of the pit area. To avoid interference with the cars on track this double line must not be crossed at any time




Once the double white line turns into a single line you are free to enter the track




Drivers on track please be cautious when another car exits the pits due to the lack of visibility for the exiting car.

I was very doubtfull on doing 28 or 29 laps. Finally I have set 29 laps but if you consider other is better please tell.

i lock tires pretty consistently under braking at sebring- new flatspotting is going to make for a rough ride- i lowered brake pressure to 88 and have 51/49 balance - i think im locking the rears mostly , i tried moving the balance forward but i still lock em alot

anybody else got a solution to the easy lock ups at this track ?

I tried NOT to lock up, I overshot all turns :S

Ill have to accept flatspot vibration it seems..

you could also try to lower your brake sens in the options menu, if you have not already.

Tire managing is going to be important here, tires must last a lot of laps and braking here is not easy as not all brakings are in a straight.
Just try to practice not being too aggressive with the brake pedals at the places you feel you're locking (I almost never go full pedal pressure in ths track, maybe at a couple of spots just at the beginning of the braking).
Also you can try changing the brake balance while driving depending on the turn, that would be too busy when racing other people though.

I have a lot to learn about setting this car, that's always been my weak point. I try to make logical changes to the setup that should make the car faster and I end up with a worse and slower car to drive.

Brake earlier , dont run too much camber , on fronts replace camber with caster this keeps tyres flat in a striaght line for braking but gives a degree of camber for the turn , make sure tyre pressures are not too low
