Dont panic i wasnt racing , i got invited to a trackday organised by a Lotus dealer , i had the opportunity to drive different models around the track, i then sat alongside a real race driver called Mike Jordan while he showed how it should be done , this was in the 90s so a long time ago .

Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

For me it had to be the Esprit , the Elan FWD was lighter and more nimble but the Esprit had presence , i only drove the 2.2ltr version which felt quick but Mike Jordan took me round in the V8 which was phenominal , sounded glorious and was seriously quick

I spent my time going round there on two wheels Wink Yes I used to be a biker.

I did a few weekends there on club track days similar experience to Dave's I would imagine.

I also had a go around with an experienced racer but in something much slower than Dave's experience in the V8, mine was in a Caterham 7. But the thrill of an open wheeler at high speed was amazing!!

Sometimes I get the feeling I wouldn't mind moving there (If I had the same salary I have here), Life looks easier than stressed life back home.

Very nice bikes Nikos , i always preferred the Italian marques more than the Jap or British , i wasnt into bikes for very long both my elder brothers had very bad accidents on them so when my turn came i had BIG fights with my Mother to have one, my last bike was a little CB250 . Did you ever get to the IOM TT ?

No, but I did London to Athens and back twice on a Honda 250N fully ladden, two persons, more scary than TT lol (have I told you that I studied in London?)
Later I did Athens to Lisboa, Portugal with the wife on the Ducati.

Hmm I remember pushing the Moto Guzzi to bump start it every week as altenator didnt want to work, Ducati was a bit better but back disc brake lasted 500km (!!).
At the opposite, I left the Honda in a snowy London for a month parked outside, came back, everything frozen around, got on it, pushed the ignition and off I was Big Grin

I crushed my arm badly at an accident not riding a bike, I still carry 2 plates and 20 bolts in it, so I wouldnt risk a bike accident after that, I had to stop.
Btw Cookie rides a huge bike besides his huge car.

I rode bikes for 30 years, and luckily never put one down.
And flew airplanes even longer.
