After my trip to Australia I've been fighting with some serious jet lag. Had no energy to start practicing before friday. Still I've got no energy. So just 2 days of practice this time, but got up to speed really quick during Saturday evening. I noticed Robert and I were really close in laptime, and I realised I might have a chance after all.
QUALI
My first attempt failed but I might have helped DJ with draft because his first lap was excellent. It took a couple of more tries before I finally got a clean lap and did 1:36:9 something. I later improved 1 tenth but I still had 1 tenth up to Robert. I managed to improve time after time but only with some tiny thousandths and it was not enough. For my final try, I turned HUD and timing off and tried to relax, and it helped. Improved 0.25 seconds and stole pole 8)
RACE 1
Not a very good race for me. Got a good start though, and kept the lead until lap two when I misjudged Robert a bit.. I thought he was going to overtake me in T1 but I left the door unnecessarily wide open and we were side by side in T2 were I had no grip at all and slipped out on the grass. Both Rob and DJ managed to overtake me. Then something happened (can't remember) that caused both Dave and Marcel to get past me too. I had a great fight with Marcel for a couple of laps and finally managed to get past by diving on the inside in T3. But my tires were dead and I decided to pit the same lap. It actually turned out to be a perfect undercut because when everyone had done their stops, I was 2nd behind Rob. Of course he was out of reach but after my bad first laps I was really satisfied with finishing in front of DJ who is chasing me in the overall standings.
RACE 2
I was following Marcel and the other guys down to T1 but accidently braked a bit too late and touched Marcel's rear right wheel. It didn't feel like a bad hit and it did not result in a crasch, but some annoying suspension damage for me. Had a big moment exiting final corner and lost all speed on the main straight. Dave and Gorka overtook me and just before braking Gorka took the inside, in front of me. I decided to brake a little earlier but I didn't brake as hard as usual which resulted in a little touch with Gorka because he was hard on his brakes. Unfortunately he spun.. Really sorry about that After that I was chasing Marcel again, and 3 other guys, with Rob right behind me. Next lap it was the guys in front of me who had a bad exit in final corner and I managed to overtake all 4 of them! Now it was only Cookie between me and the leader, DJ. I couldn't overtake him on the straight so I decided to do the same maneuver to him as I did to Marcel in Race 1, and dived on the inside in T3. Cookie obviously didn't see me and turned into me. Our cars got stuck in each other and somehow I managed to make him spin too :-[ Oh well.. All I could do was to continue, now behind DJ and Rob. I decided to try an undercut again, and once again I was mighty successful. Before my pitstop I could barely see DJ in the distance, and after he pitted a couple of laps later, both he and Rob was behind me 8) With fresher tires, Rob slowly closed the gap but not enough to overtake me. With a couple of laps to go I think I might have scared Nikos to death by almost loosing control of the car when lapping him, sorry about that :
Had great fun today, thanks everyone. And thank you Paul for hosting. Sorry to the guys I caused to spin, my concentration was not on top today..

Q: just back in time from the X-mas market, rubber helps to do PB but all others seem to be much faster
R1: Harry Mac in front of me must have had issues as he did not move, rusting in crash 1, in T2 Paul just came back onto track resulting in crash 2. Fortunately not too much damage and car still possible to drive. Rest was fun
R2: too much speed for T1 -> end of field, fun driving after that until closing in on Nikos. Interesting battle for a few rounds with pit stop in between. Dare too much in ascari and kiss wall in turn 8. Car is very unbalanced after that but dont want to pit again. Make it to finish somehow.
Good fun & excitement as always
Looking forward to the Ring
best

Hi Tobias, sorry if car was on grid, did not press race button, shouldn't have been there as I didn't qualify or place. I was too ill to drive, I just wanted to watch the fun as it's much better than watching racing on the TV.

Number 12 was the game here, P12 in qualy, race 1 & race 2.
Anyway, is a good track, because is demanding, I liked rF1 version, this one need some work.
Qualy: I worked very hard for two weeks, but seems that track conditions vary tremendous, RealRoad is the name, so I changed setup many times, never cross the 41 mark, until race day when I make 1.40.991........ good for P12.
Race 1: I was hit twice before T1, with little damage suspension, I managed to drive without repairs taking P12, good fight with Jerry San.
Race 2: Clean start this time, P12 again. Going P8 at one moment, make a mistake and start a very nice fight with Marcel and Dan Minges, they won, ja ja, P12 again.
Very nice race, a lot of fun, you guys are really very good people, gentleman drivers all around, Waiting for the Ring....
Thank you very much Paul.

Qualy
-------
My pb had been in the 39s during practice days. Thanks to having more rubber on track and using a shorter second gear made me gain a lot of time in the first sector mainly. That put in me in the 37s, enough for 4th place.
Race 1
---------
Didn't do a very good start, released too much clutch pedal and lost a bit of engine torque. Luckily I didn't lose my 4th place. It was difficult holding Marcel pressing behind until Rikard made a couple of mistakes and got right behind Marcel who now had to take care at his mirrors. That brought me a bit of clean air behind.
Laps went by and by the end of lap 6 I saw in the mirrors Rik going for his pitstop, the undercut was very likely to happen. The next lap I went for my pitstop wit Dj ahead of me. He got really bad luck and found Nikos doing his pitstop sharing the same pitbox. My pit timer was already on 25 seconds when he was able to start pitting.
My pitstop was not too quick, 49 seconds so when I got out from the pits I had already lost position to Rik.
Virtually I was in third place but I had to take good care of Marcel who would be close behind. And so he was, the final 5 laps he was cutting time and I wasn't driving good laps. At last the final lap came, it was a bit of a scary lap having the lapped car of Tobias ahead with a high ping >600ms. Decided to keep behind as he wasn't being too slow and crossed the finish line in a podium finish.
Race 2
---------
Started carefully and gained some places during the first lap. Starting the second lap I was trying to outbrake David Coyne when I felt a hit behind that brought me straight into Marcel in front. That put me on the grass with a stalled engine. Took some ethernal seconds to restart and then get back on track. At that moment I realised my front right suspension was damaged. Car was still driveable but behave erratically. Anyway I decided not to repair to avoid losing extra time.
I overtook a couple of cars and by the end of lap 5 I went for an early pitstop to try to get some fresher tires and undercut the cars ahead. The final 10 laps were a nice battle with David Coyne. The final two laps I was really struggling with the tires and car's behaviour and in the final lap I went wide exitin turn 4 and spun losing my place to David. Finally it was a 5th place which wasn't that bad.

Had to laugh at this as that is exactly what i did in my first ever race here at sr4l ,to make it worse i was on pole and it caused an almighty pileup on the grid , i thought my SR4L days were over and i would be kicked :-[
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Qualifying: Because I had alot of time to practice again this time, and also experiment with setups on the car, I was confident enough to think I was totally able to get my 2nd Pole Position in a row, as it turned out to be very close laptimes between me and my brother. Rikard finally took over 1st place with 2 tenths and while I was doing my last try I manage to improve with some hundredths in the 1st and 2nd sectors but it wasn't enough to take Pole. Still very satisfied to start 2nd.
Race 1: I was focused to make a good start and close behind Rikard into turn 1. After a clean first lap something happened in the first and second corner, there was enough room for me to overtake in the both corners but I backed off a little because there was some misunderstanding between me and Rik when I had the inside line in second corner, I think Rik thought that I was closer than I actually was, so he stayed too far on the left side to leave room, where it wasn't enough grip so he was forced to drive on the grass for a couple seconds but quickly back on track again. I took over first place and looked behind I saw Rikard had to fight back with a couple other drivers. I managed to build up a gap and was comfortable driving in the lead. I didn't even think if my tires were worn at all but at last I had to pitstop in the end of lap 9. After that I could drive even harder. And all of a sudden the finish flag was there.
I'm sure I won the race because of the situation between me and Rikard earlier, but otherwise I think it would have been nice to have a battle the entire race.
Race 2: Made a bad start from 10th, no wheel spin at all but surprisingly I kept my position. Knew it wasn't going to be easy the first laps. I wanted to stay very focused on what I was doing and take it easy, not to have too many plans. After turn 1, I earned 2 positions because I noticed 2 others accidentally "hooked" each others wheels and spun.
Lap 2, suddenly in 7th behind Rikard and many other drivers battling for their positions this lap, looked like a train for a while. ;D Lap 3, turn 1 again, I decided to try and overtake Marcel. Very tight here between us, and he managed to keep his position until he made a mistake and spun later same lap (at rampa Pegaso). Now in 6th and 5th position most of the messy part of the race was over.
After my pitstop at lap 9 it turned out to be an interesting fight between me and once again Cruickshank. After a lap chasing and closing in I got some slipstream and when I decided to overtake there wasn't many centimeters between our wheels. In fact I think we even touched twice and still manage to keep our cars on track. - Nice and appreciated highlight from my point of view of this race 2. Later I made everything to at least get closer to Rikard in the lead, but my tires were very likely overheated by this decision. After all it probably was half a second between us at the finish line.
Another great event for me, 1st and 2nd place in two eventful races. 8) On a track which is very new to me and I hadn't raced before, but in my opinion went from slippery to enough grip through the whole season. See you again!

I'm sorry I missed this. I had family in town who stayed a little late and then my wife felt I needed yet another social activity right after that. Gorka might want to consider another team mate. My intentions are good, but it seems something else often happens to sabotage me on Sundays. Not like I rack up the points when I'm here, but a no-show doesn't help either. Just know, if I'm not racing with you, I'm still thinking about it and wishing I were.

Not a problem Jim, most probably it will be me who will be missing the final race and the double points.
