Sad
You had enclosed 2 problems.
You said your timer did not start. That happens if you cut too much into the left hand pit lane at the start-finish line. The game thinks you are pitting so does not start timer. Keep away from the left hand side.
Then I'm guessing you must have Esc'ed and started again? The server was only set to Max 3 laps, so that is why you got the "Enter PITs to avoid exceeding lap allowance".

I don't understand what you mean :-\

There was no race. The actual "race" was just doing a hotlap in qualifying session. One attempt.

at the end of a session - the server switches over to the next session.
in this case, after posting a first and second sector time - i was on track within site of pits and the server switched from quallifing mode to race mode - meaning i did NOT get a time! and i was under a minute from finishing my lap! did not see a warning come up or anything - ??
in the lobby i seen: race 2 Laps
:-\

did anyone else have this happen?

To avoid this kind of problem for the champ race of next sunday, I suggest to make Qualy during the days before sunday, from wednesday to saturday for example and take drivers best times to set the grid, so the day of the race we all just race the race and training before the start. Been this circuit so special and demanding, I think making easy qualy session is a good option.

Jerry the race finished very early by mistake, thats all.
Some of us finished the race on time, some of you didnt, Paul knows about it and he will fix it next race Im sure.

Any idea on how did Jerry's issue happen?

A posible solution to his problem could be setting a 1 hour qualifying session but including a 1 lap limit, so once you do start you know you have to make it to the end (the moment you press Esc you won't be able to rejoin the session).
We could test that during the week on the server.

Despite that, there were any more problems?

We could also skip the 1 lap limit setting. I think we can trust everyone here when we say 1 lap only - if you ruins it, that's it. We can allow drivers to restart BEFORE they cross the start line. So if someone forgot to load their setup or cutted the start line so that the timer doesn't start, then they can return to pit and try again.

Results usually says 3 laps when you have done 1. So if someone's got more than 3 laps by the end of the race then we can check him/her and disqualify if neccessary Smile

I restart yesterday because in my first attemp I cut the white pit line a timer doesnt start, but my results at the end says 4 laps instead of 3.

In that case you should send us some Inca Kolas and a good bottle of pisco and then we would accept that lap ;D

I managed to crash 3 times on my lap, two crashes near start of my lap. As I was reading some ones chat, off I went down a hill lol, then 30 seconds later as I'm cursing myself I do it again.

There is a line in the server Multiplayer.JSON that Paul can change. This ((might)) fix the problem with server timing out. Just needs a very big number entered. Needs testing.

Code:
"Delay Between Sessions":30,
"Delay Between Sessions#":"Dedicated server delay before switching sessions automatically (after hotlaps are completed, if option is enabled), previously hardcoded to 45",

It's odd that we never had this problem with the boxer van fun race.

Paul if you upload the server replay file to your drop box I can make a Merged replay like I did with the boxer race, I have done one with my local replay file but it's a bit laggy with some peoples cars.

See you all at the Lola event

I sense this is good bottles there and I could do a test of them, so send some here too.

In rF1, there's a line in the server config file along the lines of "allow hotlap completion=?". If set to "1" it allows people to, uh, complete their hotlap.
There's also a "allow shannon a 45 second head start=1" line. One of my faves.
Not sure if it's the same for rF2, but it's worth a look.
When in doubt, pass out.

LOL Shannon, and to get you out of your dream...no the allow shannon line isn't in rF2. Having said that there is a line that says: give shannon a 200kilos weight penalty Wink
