Poll: Track choice for the US F175+USF2000 Season
#1
It's time to choose the tracks we will be racing next season.
They are all located inside the USA.
You can choose up to 7 tracks. The 8th track of the season and final race event will be an oval race that will be made public as this poll ends.

Though some drivers don't like ovals, being a US season I personally think it is a must to have the oval race as the grand finale.

If you know of more tracks, please tell and I will add them to the poll.

Long Beach for a street circuit and the Oval must be Indy, I think.

have you tryed Watkins Glen?

it's poor rf1 conversion with low mesh.
with BT44 there are lot of Force feedback problems. i never test with USF2000

The tracks are a mixed bag of nuts and bolts. Some better looking than others.
Think Searspoint had ghost trees the last time I tried it.

One of the 16 tracks in the F1-1988 mod has a USA track I think. A street track.

Ello ello ello, long time no see Big Grin

Texas World Speedway is another bad ass track - Oval and Oval+Road course.

Is this the mod your talking about running as well as the USF2000? https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?t...sed.54192/

I'm going to put in a plug for NOLA. It's brand new so many of you guys might not have tried it. I think it is a lot of fun. It's ISI/397 so the quality is high. If you haven't tried it please do so. See if you think it would be a good one to run. I'd recommend the "A" course with the boot in the infield. Indy straight-lined the esses which kind of sterilizes it. I suppose that is to make for a braking battle at the end.

EDIT: Here is an Indycar lap by Scott Dixon.

https://vimeo.com/124720604

Unfortunately the inaugural Indy race was a heavy rain slide and crash fest. From what heard from some track people was that Indycar did a horrible job of promoting the race, even after they spent money remapping the track for them. So there are bad feelings there that may keep them from ever trying another race. It's a shame. Apparently the drivers liked the course.

You might be able see some other various vids there that I've posted over the years. Check out the Michael Schumacher one (2011 Spa, he went off at Les Combes). I'm like a little kid in the presence of legendary celebrity. My hand is the last one patting him as he rides off. With the horrible accident that followed not too much later this experience is much more of a great memory.

Propose please DJ so Gorka takes the information.

Have you guys tried a one-off Indy race with the Gasoline Alley roadsters mod? That would be fun!

I just tried Nola and its very dark for me , its like driving at night , anyone else had this ?
I downloaded another version of Watkin from steam workshop and its actually quite nice , not the bump fest like the last version we used .
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

I did notice that the default event setting had long shadows for practice. But nothing like driving at night. That's strange. I set the race for like midday (12pm - 2pm) with partly cloudy skies and it look fine.

I also tried altering the time to midday , but the effect is like driving at dusk , you can see daylight away on the horizon but the track is in virtual darkness , i will try to set it for night time and see what happens

Perhaps shader settings are a problem...? Is it even possible to change shader type in rF2? From what I can see it automatically uses DX9. I wonder if they'll have a setting when they upgrade it for DX11 support.

The problem was due to my new comp , i copied the player settings and config ini into a new install , the settings for my old graphics didnt agree with my new one , deleted contents of shader folder and rebiult player and config and that cured it , so now i can see where i am going .

Paul can arrange a server with the USF2000 and other with the F1 1975 using the same track (not from the list) so we could race them the next two sundays as a test while we keep on deciding.
After those two fun races we could officially start the next season.

What about a 2 laps fun race at Targa Florio, just to training? Any car. Maybe USF2000.

Targa Florio yes, USF2000 there, no. Sacrilege.

We have the Lola T290, its perfect there.
