Update Saturday Nov 20th:
For various technical reasons that I won’t bore you with, the SR4L AC server has been rebuilt - you may need to search for it again and add it to your favourites.
The good news is that all of the DLC packs we purchased are now available to use - and first up is the excellent laser-scanned Brands Hatch GP circuit with the Lotus 72D car (both part of the Dream Cars 3 official DLC - available from the Steam store). I’ve also added the Ferrari 312T which I believe is part of the main free official content.
Enjoy - they‘re a cracking combination. The FFB in both cars is excellent and I’d thoroughly recommend driving in VR if possible (I use an old CV1 Rift).

Ok - after a bit of desultory fiddling with the Dedicated Server, we’ve bitten the bullet and performed a full install (AC is on a Halloween Steam sale right now if you’ve not already got it - we’ll be adding the Ultimate pack DLC shortly (Porsche Packs, Dream Packs etc.) so make sure you get those too).
There is currently no joining password and the server is running Black Cat County (long) and Lotus 49s (both are default content). We’d appreciate any feedback or (constructive) suggestions.

Can we have siverstrone historic circuit , we can better judge the difference between AC and RF2 on a track we are familiar with
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

We'll get Silverstone up DC, it is impressive to say the least.
If you're not using content manager I highly recommend it. We'll do a tutorial asap for those interested.

The game is on sale in steam right now. It runs best with Content Manager installed. See cookies post. With out getting the DLC you'll have a good enough package to get started although it's all on sale atm.
Content manager lays things out very well but give it some time, there's lots to learn. Go to online and search ACSR4L password SR4L and give it a run.
There a shader patches and weaher FX patches that make the game look pretty amazing but I'll go into in detail another time.
Check out SirSpats Gaming on YouTube. Many how to do vid's.
I'll go into more detail asap as it's pretty late here.

I'll probably give it a go this weekend. Usually only dip into the career mode every so often. Had AC for a while got it when steam did a deal on the lot before. Got it on Xbox to but could never get used to driving with a gamepad.

The server is up with Silverstone (sorry Giorgio - think you were on track at Black Cat when I changed it…)
No joiner password at the moment - but if anyone spots any random idiots, let me know and I’ll put SR4L back on.

Huge amount of unofficial content available too - and with content manager installing content is just drag’n’drop…

is it me or is it very dark, its the same in rf2 with a cloudy day everything appears way too dark to make out brake markers etc , my screen is fine and bright for other games and browsing , am i missing some sort of control for increasing brightness in AC and RF2

Dunno - I’m in Spain for a few days and can’t test myself. It’s possible I inadvertently selected some duff weather - I’m trying to manage the server via Content Manager using my iPhone and it’s hard to see all the settings.
I *think* the CSP (custom shader patch) that forms part of Content Manager allows quite a bit of end-user tweaking though.

Just checked. Looks as if the weather had defaulted to two session states - clear and heavy cloud. I’ve tried to set it all to Clear now.

It looks dark for me too. On the other track before the brightness was fine.

ran a few laps, runs well in VR on my old rig; did not check frame rates but it was smooth enough.

It will be good to stress test it at some point. There’s an option to utilise more threads on the server - currently set at 3 as there were some errors at the default of2.
