SR4L Fun Event Rnd 5 Sebring
#41
Lecram Wrote:And to continue my endless whine; First, I'm sure I did 40 laps with the Eve F2 just now, no useless pit out's, rFactor said 40 laps, live timing says 148. Definately an issue with live timing, not problematic though. Smile

And second, the realroad file currently loaded. It's made entirely by ai and I don't know why ISI made them drive these crazy lines through, for example, the last 2 turns. (see attachment) Any race car driver would stay right (inside) through the corner after the back-straight and start turning left when the curbs on the right end. AI takes a line which will cost you top speed at s/f straight, not to mention how hard it is to take the last corner this way.

So what I would suggest is to delete the current realroad file loaded on the server, let us create one from scratch (green) by ourselves tonight and use that because it will be so much nicer (looking), not so narrow and better to drive to boot. (no sudden transitions of grip levels)

/ramble mode

Yes, the counter does exaggerate, I noticed (and stated that here) a few times before. Of course it's not a main priority and in time, it will be fixed I presume. Strange thing is; it does not seem to do that to everyone, not all the time and not as "heavy" all the time.

But ehm......this yellow line.......did you draw that one? Smile Man, it's a bit early in the day to be that drunk! Wink

Think this is a nice track on which you can gain a lot of speed when you get to know it proper.
Was a bit disappointed last night though; overshooting the first corner......crap......wanted to see where I stand in comparison to you, DJC and Bryan. Had a good setup and wanted to hook on to you guys.
Having to do a drive through, wasn't worth racing on a 5 lap race so I thought I'd join the next race (gambling on there would be one) and had a smoke.
Just in time to be in the vote for the next one, joined, a lap later I see you standing, Bryan going into you (?) DJC stopping on the straight.......I stopped and got my keyboard (it's harder now on the playseat Wink ) hit escape, all cars come storming by! :o
Dropped the board, searched for the mouse (crap, I really have to get that in order) already to much time passed by, so a "DNF" again; was no use anymore to race as I was back 15 or 20 seconds I believe. I really thought that there was going to be a restart, hence David stopping on the straight.
Didn't want to wait it out again so I practiced some offline.
Strange on this track; you can do a lap and gain a lot in one sector, not knowing what you did different, especially in the first two. Can't redo that either than at that moment, keep on trying, but no.
I hope it has to do with knowing the track for this car. (?)

Ow well, trying to keep the pace up; think this is a nice track.

My new internet is coming on Thursday finally. Hopefully I won't have that much disconnects than like before.
I will also stream the races in HD on twitch.tv from now on and it will be my perspective only of course but without commentary because I'm swearing a lot during a race :p

Kalanur, live broadcasting? I'll tell my wife to watch the race live so she can watch me winning ;D

Marcel, where do you get that much practice time?
AI line is a pain here, you go from rubber to green at lots of places, that keeps my car more time sideways than straight (I like a twitchy rear and it goes imposible when going through "green" areas). Final curve is a killer because of this. Can't we create a brand new rubber file with a rubber line created by our cars?

Also, how much cutting is allowed here? Curves 6-7-8 can be done by carring half a car through the grass (if we'd stick to the "2 tires on tarmac" rule)

Wim, the yellow line is not that he's drunk, it's his secret driving style for being that fast.

Also add that I'd like the need for at least 2 voters to be removed. When you get online and nobody is in the server it's imposible to restart weekend and prepare for a long stint test.

It's only from his view while he's racing. Would be a cool feature though. Smile

gorgias1976 Wrote:Marcel, where do you get that much practice time?

I'm working part time at the moment because of medical conditions. Today was my day off. I seldom practise during daytime tho. Most racing is done after 22pm till 24pm, when my wife and I spend the rest of the evening in what we call our 'spielzimmer'. 8)
Today was an exception, I saw your message about it being an Eve-track and I could not resist to test the Eve to see if I could come close to my Spark pb and come back to slap you in the face with it if I did ;D

You we're asking for it tho Tongue :-*

Excellent idea mate ;D

Two wheels on tarmac seems sufficient to me?

There's no special corners at PB that need any clarification. Cutting rules apply as per our Rule&Regs here. http://www.simracers4life.com/index.php?topic=48.0 Unlike Watkins Glen where we had a problem.

New rubber file added Wink

Kalanur, live broadcasting would be great. This could really add to promoting SR4L as do the fun Events.. on that note Welcome to Mickael, Sunday nights speedster.

Like already mentioned I can only stream from my view while racing and I don't know if my drving skill is a good promotion for SR4L Tongue
If one of the top drivers would stream from his/her (Sorry Neela, almost forgot you) view that would be a real promotion.

I had enough practice (still my laptimes were 1 sec slower then yours), but the night before there was the every years traditional barrel-tapping ceremony at my favorite brewery. Big hangover. I thought i could try to race but then i hit you after T1 in first race! :o I was angry about myself and ashamed to make such a mistake. Well, don't drive a F1 after a barrel-tapping ceremony Smile

That's nice Smile

Barrel-Tapping: This is a very small brewery. Every year they have an event when the new seasons beer is ready (in fact there a two events for the two flavor) and you are allowed to try it first (and it's alot of fun Smile ).
