Massive Track Pack Planned for Our League
Hello I would like to bring to Our members attention that we are about to start a massive project here at Sr4L
this will be a track Pack that contains only 1979 Tracks here is a list of the tracks that will be in the Pack

Let me know if any of you would like to help even if you do not know Max as I am only watching youtube videos and learning as I go so it is not as if I am Mr 3D Max lol
these where released for rFactor1 as part of the 1979 F1 Mod I spoke to Tim Weatly and I am told as I have to edit all files this is not a conversion but as an actual build so no permission is needed from the person who made it for rFactor
this really is great news and I can wait to make a start on this
if anyone can shed light on 3D max or as I have said would like to be involved then please post he with you links and to get involved

It would be great to have all these tracks. It\'s not what I\'m interested in, track building or have the time for. Ideally rf2 gets into gear and we start to see more variation. With some many members now you could be lucky to find someone to help.

Here is the 1st of the 15 tracks imported in to Max 3d

Now I need to learn how to export it as it is with the same textures so I can see it in rf2 Dev Mode if the textures are ok and I will post screen shots for approval
I will package it.
If the textures need updating to a more modern textures I will then edit the Max Files with Textures from 2012 and the export it again once we are all happy with how it looks I will release them to VIP members
for Beta testing once they pass that Ill release them either 1 at a time as they are completed or wait until all are completed
I hope you like what you start to see here I am a noob at this and I only know what I can watch on YouTube so any help would be great thanks to all that support us and our Community

It may be a bit of a big learning curve for the 1st couple of t racks but I feel by track 3 we will have it stream lined I am already putting a 2012 texture pack together so I can
use it for quick ref when working on the tracks
I Google DX10 textures even if you open them in DX9 they look a lot better than old DX9 textures it just lowers the Pixel count I think but as I said this is all from what i seen on YouTube and then Google

yes he is on my Yahoo messenger friends list He is basically talking me through the export bit which is the hardest part but hopefully I will have in Dev mode in a day or 2 then I hope It will get faster as I do more tracks
once in Dev mode I can the set pit boxes and AIW settings for AI controlled cars

this program looks alot like the civil 3d i use at work. Dany could you post a link for a good download of the 3dmax program you are using. I tried before but i get nervous.. After seeing that program and the track your working on it looks similar to what i do at work. (ACAD) road design..... but this looks like alot more fun because than we can race on it! I WANT THIS PROGRAM!

I Now Have Buenosaires79 In rFactor2 Dev Mode But I can Say The Textures Need a Lot Of Work The Track it\'s self is great but all surrounding items look dated and the textures are from a DX7 era
I am looking in to stealing rFactor2 textures and replacing them with the old ones then I must learn the New Shader to apply to them and I think we are away
Paul Even if we just strip everything from the tracks edge and if you know how to make stand and bleachers and pit lane buildings bridges may be we could make some and try adding our selfs

If you can Model 3D Buildings Like stands , Pit Stalls, Race Central Bridges, Light Posts, or any other track side object,
then May be you can but your just not aware of it
all these textures aer old and need replacing but Paul C came up with the Idea of just making new items with a 2012 texture
I have no idea at this time how to so it would say me loads of time all you would need is to find out if there is a Max 2010 to Plender plugin I think there is as I have seen people talking about working in Blender then importing in to Max
then just import our Files make the modifications save it send it back

Hey Dany, i would love to get involved in someway  ,but like i said i have limited skills in using Blender (i haven\'t used it for awhile now),i started using Blender about 18
months ago, and was modelling a lambo (can\'t remember which model),but was starting to get used to working with the meshs,everything was looking good until oneday
my external harddrive died (this is where all my work was saved)  , but i would be willing to pick it back up and have another go  ,especially if there is a plugin so you
can import into max from Blender, i might be alittle slow to start (have to learn Blender again),but i\'m more than willing to give it ago.
