race 1 went pretty well survived the mayhem in t5 and managed to get nice consistend driving. that is till lap 14. i managed to drive up to second place behind Cookie and made my pitstop by then. there it all went wrong. when i was driving out off pit i got the message stop and go cause of pitlane speeding ???. so next lap go and get my penalty....and again the message pit lane speeding and again a stop and go.... >
. after seeing the replays i still don't get it. so finished 14th.Race 2 i wanted to ease up a little and tried to drive as clean as i could. that went well and at some point my teami was behind me (think it was lap 6 or so.) Knowing Hector was faster then me i made room to pass for him and unfortunatly i spun off. had damage on the suspention so i decided to pit immediatly. took to many fuel tho....miscalculation due to tension : ![]() Coming out of the pit (this time without a penalty) and managed to drive save and sound. In lap 14 i saw Hectari standing damaged in turn 3 so it was up to me to keep the VVV F1 team in the points. and did so finishing in 9th place wich is (in my humble opinion) not so bad for a rookie ![]() Congrats to Gorka and Marcel. Thank you all for the fun race tonight. And SR4L.....(Bryan/Paul and all i don't know of) great work!!! :-* oops

Well I walk away from this race wearing my helmet so nobody can see how disappointed I am. I ask nobody to talk to me in the pits, I then go back to my trailer and lock the door and play some rfactor 2, lol.
RACE 1 Well the race bearly got started its the first lap and I'm at the receiving end of Yerkes boy racer impatience, that was a desperate dive only ever going to end in tears. Reminds me of Sergio Perez at Monaco last year with what you said Yerke, "it worked for me before". It work for Perez once aswell but not the second time. First lap cold tyres don't stop cars well. I limped back to the pits took 102 seconds repair then it was time to claw back up the ladder, I did my best but wasn't able to gain much, the car didnt feel right and i was driving it to hard to make any sort of recovery. Nikos and my car where also like magnets drawn towards each other on 2 occasions, again sorry Niko had an unexpected lock up crossing into the path of your dirty air, I was a passenger. RACE 2 I started really well, I think I was 10th and I managed to gain 5-6 places by the first corner, then it was just Yerke, Mel and Hector to catch. Lap 2 first corner I overtook Yerke after he locked up but then he turned in to make contact with me again, I'm starting to think he doesn't like my colour scheme or its personal, lol. I got away with drifting out the love tap. I got behind hectari and was amazed to see him pull into the pits but he got a penalty for starting to early. I then lead the race till lap 12 at that point Gorka had caught me up but we was both pitting, somehow Gorkas stop seamed to be alot quicker then mine he was out before me. In my eagerness to get out after G I clipped Pauls car with my rear tyre which sent me hurtling into John too. I'm sorry guys I'm totally baffled by this a genuine mistake I didn't want to ruin anyones race, least of all my own. (You should see the replay). Disaster struck again as i caught the dirt that span me off into the barrier, require another stop to do the repairs needed to continue. I should be happy I'm still second in the championship, however my team has dropped to second place due to Marcels consistent top place finishes. See you at Blackwood....

Qualy
Looking at laptimes in practice I envisaged some hard chargers being near the front of the grid and envisaged a possible pile up at turn 1 , I knew there were 4 drivers I couldn’t beat so I was aiming for 6th place then I could be on the inside line for turn 1, I got a time in quickly that got me 5th so I pitted and spent the rest of qualy mentally urging Yerkee to beat my time and push me down one , Must be the first time I wanted someone to beat me , he didn’t so I qualified on the outside . Race 1 I was convinced there was going to be trouble at turn 1 and I wanted that inside line , so I had to either beat Bart off the line or hope he did a good start and I could drop in behind him , as it turned out I got the drop on him and made a good start , this allowed me to get that inside line . Going down to turn 1 I was waiting for things to happen , but , in front and behind of me everyone was very much in control and there was no drama’s (well done guys) . I went round turns 1-2 in 4th place but could see Bart was recovering lost ground , I thought I was going to be in for a very hard race . Entering turn 5 I suddenly saw Bart spin in my mirrors , I breathed a sigh of relief and decided to push and make the most of it while he recovered , the next time I saw him 2-3 laps later I was lapping him so I presumed he suffered damage , he hovered around my rear for a couple of laps pushing and hoping for a mistake , but he went off again at turn 1 . I had a brief moment of excitement when I came across Gorka and someone else at turn 5 , they had tangled and gone off , this was on my pitting lap and Gorka followed me into the pits , I got a 46 sec stop But Gorkas pit crew where faster ( Red Bull trained) and he got away before me , after that I looked after the car and tyres and drove for a finish . Race 2 I was on the inside so I was happy , flag dropped but the car in front didn’t move , I nearly hit him but managed to stop fortunately for me DJ who was behind me swerved around me , I avoided the conflict going down towards turn 1 (how can you crash on a straight ?) , I again missed the next crash at turn 1 and was behind DJ , he got taken out at turn 3 and I took to the grass to avoid his car , by this time my heart rate was matching my engine rpm , after all that mayhem things settled down , I could see Marcel running me down and thought it pointless to fight him as it would only slow us both down , so took a wide line at turn 1 and he slide underneath me , I tailed him until we caught 2 other guys who were fighting for position , I saw Marcel have a go and nearly get taken out , at that point we both appeared to make the same decision that an early pit stop would get us past them, so we both pitted , the blind and 1 armed pit crew kept me there for 53 secs , needless to say Marcel was well gone by the time I left the pits , got my head down and tried to do consistent fast laps , this payed of and I crept up to 4th place , I could see Yerkee was ahead of me and that I was closing him down , got near him on lap 22 but couldn’t get past , went into lap 23 and I decided to try and out brake him for turn 1 , this I duly did and almost made it , he just tagged my rear wheel and we both visited the scenery, no complaints it was just a racing incident , we didn’t get damaged but he was pointing the right way so drove off quickly , by the time I turned around I had dropped a place so I finished 5th . A great nights racing and a lot of fun , well done everyone and big thanks as always to Paul and Bryan for setting this up , Bryan stop playing with your balls (cricket variety) your losing points :-*

Qually went well for me. I really wanted a grid spot on the gripper racing line. 3rd I ended up with, perfect, with Bart trying his best to beat my time but failing by the smallest amount . I saw you waiting for a free tow from me, I was having none of it. Too wise for that, ha
.Race 1, good too. Jumped Gorka at the start, and followed MarcelW for a few laps in 2nd. Gorka was quick behide me and did not take long to get his place back. He then caught up to MW. It was good to see them battling infront. MarcelW pits early after losing the lead to Gorka. Half lap later I drive passed a black car at the side of the road, it was Gorka :O. Into the pit myself, followed by Gorka a bit later. The rest of the race I was matching MarcelW times, but behind me Gorka was on fire, gaining every lap. Lucky for me the chequered flag waved before he could caught. Finished 2nd. Race 2, All good again, managed to gain a few places at start, eyes on storks looking for any sign of danger to end my race, all good until i got to that very fast left hand kink. Had slower guys in front, so thought I would take it easy going through that bend, maybe a bit to slow, as Gorka shot down the inside of me, but clips the slower car infront (Thanos), sending his car like a missile into mine. I hit the wall and lost a wheel. Sorry Thanos, I was honing my horn at you but was not your fault. My fault for going into that corner to slow. Straight to pits to wait there 4 laps. ouch. Poor Bart I saw on replay your good luck :S . Think you could have won that race 2. Pitlane crash into my team mate Paul, lol. Oi leave my teamie alone you ![]() Surprised people are still doing illegal Pit entry's, not just from the slower guys but from some of the fast guys too. What gives? :O

I only push Crtl+F and put my nick on the box. If my nick didn´t appear in any report of you it´s a sign that i did a good race (in my standards - low for this season ).
Anyone else notice something strange with realroad surface when start the race? I´m saying that because seems to me the road becomes sundely darker in race and i lost some braking points. If someone has the replay file of qualify and race so i can put side by side and see if it was just my impression. Great race results to me but, besides this track is very challenging, did not find this a fun race R1- Start 16 ~ finished 7th R2- Start 15 ~ finished 8th

Well, definetly this track suits my driving, it happened with the F2s and now with the F1s.
Qualifying ------------- Looking for a front row position just couldn't beat Marcel's time by a little, anyway second was good as I knew I had a good racing pace. Race1 ------- Struggling for grip in the right lane I lost second position to David. As things settled down I pushed hard and was able to catch both David and Marcel overtaking them at main straight. Then started pushing hard to try to open a gap to them. It was around lap 11, I had a 2 second gap to Marcel. Aproaching turn 5 for a tenth of a second my eyes went to the changing HUD display (pitstop was being auto-requested) and also to a recently wrecked yellow car ahead. That unnecesary distraction caused me to miss the braking line, going through the greener right side and kissing the right side of the curve causing a sping and a stalled engine. That meant for a lot of time lost, seing cars passing by in a desperation. Quickly went to do my pitstop (which I had practiced the entry to the milimiter to minimize time lost there), which took 47 seconds. Don't know even if I overtook you there David C, must check replay, as I didn't knew in which position I was at that moment and who I had around ahead/behind. After the pitstop I pushed to my max, doing qualyfing lap after qualyfing lap trying to catch DjC. Feeling big sweat drops falling through my face in such a physical efort wich finally didn't pay off. At least managed a third place and a podium finish. Race 2 -------- Things went quite clean through turn 1. Then started picking up places (wierd thing about thanos, as in my driving viewpoint I did brake enough and didn't hit him, but his car suddenly jumped to the right as if I had pushed him in his "game"). At about lap 11 I was already in second place at 3.x sec behind Bart. We both went at the same time to the pits. Pitstop took 48 seconds and I was surprised when I saw Bart was still stopped as I passed on his side, leaving the pits in a virtual first place. As everyone had pitted two laps later I was already in first place with a 8 sec gap to Bart so I was able to drive more comfortably to the end and win the race (At last the victory came, hope it will not be the only one of the season). Here's a video of the first laps of race 2 from my viewpoint. Paul, aren't we using the same bonuses we used at the F2 league? I mean bonuses as "Leading the race for a lap", "Leading the most laps", "Fastest lap of the race", and so on...

Bart S Wrote:RACE 1 Reading from the choice of words it appears that you're still very dissapointed that I ruined the race for you. I pointed this out myself but it seems I haven't been apologetic enough. I shouldn't have done that move, 9 out of 10 it ends up in tears. At the start and first couple of corners I was driving so close to you that, despite better judgement, I reacted on impulse when seeing the opportunity. At that moment I didn't think about if I would've got passed, that I needed to defend my position for the remaining 22 laps because simply you were faster than I was. Foolish move by me, I'm very sorry. Also my apologies for the love tap, had to press look right button, whilst struggling for grip. I had to yield there but that didn't go spotless, that was some good outbraking by you. deecee52 Wrote:I could see Yerkee was ahead of me and that I was closing him down , got near him on lap 22 but couldn’t get past , went into lap 23 and I decided to try and out brake him for turn 1 , this I duly did and almost made it , he just tagged my rear wheel and we both visited the scenery, no complaints it was just a racing incident , we didn’t get damaged but he was pointing the right way so drove off quickly , by the time I turned around I had dropped a place so I finished 5th . Actually, I was suprised that you apologized to me. I replayed the incident and it looks like I should've yielded. I wasn't sure about what to say so I just said no problem and left the server. It doesn't feel right to me that I got 3rd place that way. I have send Bryan a PM with a replay to get a view of it. If I was wrong, it seems fair to penalize me for that incident. The whole event didn't go well and I still feel bad about what happened to you DC and Bart. That was my race report.

race 1- i got hit from behind in t1 ....sent me to the outside of the track but i stayed on, got to t5 and there was a yellow flag and vehicles visible sideways in the road, so i slowed and took to the inside curb then 'wham' another hit from behind- this time i went sideways in the road and then something happened.......the guy who hit not sure who......proceeded to plow through me by hitting my front tire and knocking me out of the way.....luckily i was able to finish the race with a good result but in my book that behavior is :'( ...its one thing to crash accidentally and hit someone.... its another to intentionally plow a car out of the way....admins!!!please take a look a warning is warranted.....im kinda pissed someone would do that, no hard feelings but the admins need to look at it
Race 2......the car in front did not move on the flag so i paused......my race is on Gorka's video- thats me in front of him - i got going once i realized gorka was behind and trying to get going....all the cars on the front straight slowed for a tumbling car and we screamed past into a clean t1 ..- halfway you can see i go inside nikos in t3, he had gotten into a wobble after t2 and i pulled up beside him trying to pass at t3....i got in a wobble .i lost it and damaged the car....nobody else got hurt....i did something similar in t 3 later and had to pit 2x in the race.....got an 11th through perseverance...

I spent all two last weeks trying to learn Kyalami well.
I did, only big problem with this track is that off tarmack it is very slippery and sometimes just touching the white border makes the car snap so quickly its impossible to correct. After Marcel had offered a very nice stable setup, all was going well for me prior to Sunday race, I even went under 1:20 which seemed impossible a week ago. During practice at Race day I had a good rythm and all seemed ok. At Quali I had gotten inside 1:19:200s and started from 9th(!!) place. Race 1: I started well but following closely somebody into t5, he obviously stepped on the white stuff and suddenly his car snapped and filled all the road in front of me, leaving me no place to go. We both went out of track but people who followed started piling up on us. I did a full lap to check if car was drivable, it wasnt, so early pitstop for me. It was just 70sec, (I was afraid it would be double than that) and I went out, built a good rythm and due to some people getting unfortunate, I ended in 8th place and lots of point ( ) which I terribly needed since my team boss decided to skip Kyalami and left me all alone to fight the monsters. At the end of Race 1, I had some big lags, that hinted what might happen in Race 2. Race 2: The worse scennario happened. After having a good start inside the top 10, suddenly everything froze inside the back esses. When it came back, I was up in the air and landed in a field behind the track barriers. I tried to find a hole to get back in the track, instead I fell into a hole that brought me back in my pit :S Race over. Cool attendance in Kyalami and surprising performance and cool attitude from new people here, keep on it guys, WD!! ![]()

What do you mean about the real road issue?
At Race 1 we started with full rubber as it had saved rubber + practice + qualy rubber + warmup rubber. At Race 2 we started with saved rubber + warmup rubber so it was a little less rubbered.

Qualify went as expected for me, high 16 was the max I could do. Gorka's speed was a bit less expected, a proper lesson in sandbagging there
![]() The hour before qualify, I once more practiced 25ltr fuel runs and felt quite confident I could run 17 low early in the race, maybe the odd 16 if I was really in the zone.. I was hoping for DjC to pass Gorka at the start, so I could build up a gap. And so it happened, I think I got to about 4 or 5 secs lead in a couple of laps. For some reason I wasn't able to run the laptimes I was aiming for, something was off, still can't put my finger on it.. G passed Dj and closed in on me, a couple of laps later he passed me on s/f using my draft and I knew at that moment all I could do was hang on and try to pass him if there was an opportunity. But hangin on was all I could do. Then I saw traffic coming up, 1+1=2 so I quickly decided to pit, about 4 or 5 laps earlier than planned. Gorka stayed out so I thought I must have gained some time there, not knowing he had crashed. So I got out of pit, refreshed and ready for another go at low 17's but again it just didn't work out. I was in the lead but Dj was not far off, he even closed in a little but fortunately I managed to bring the car home P1. Second race I took it a little too easy maybe at the first few meters. Turn 1 and 2 seemed no problem although some cars went off. Turn 3 I had to evade the result of a crash. I took the short route, across the sand on the inside, I clipped a stationary car a little with my right rear wheel and had to brake hard and countersteer to keep the car pointed. No damage but I lost a lot of time and positions to the guys in front. So the overtaking game began. I didn't have mucht trouble till I got up to Mel and Rick. I was able to pass Mel no problem but Rick gave me more trouble. I thought I had him at one point but I wasn't sure so I yielded to be safe. In the process I had to let Mel go as well... So I decide to pit. Came out and after some laps I was in 3rd behind Bart. I closed in on him and with about 10 laps to go, he got on the grass on the right after turn 3. I could see him trying to regain control but suddenly he veered of to the left, crossing the track right in front of me and going off track again. Must have been divine intervention ![]() 2nd place, 15 secs behind Gorka, I closed in a little, traffic threw me back again so I would never been able to fully close that gap. I am happy with the results, considering the struggles.
