Don't read anything about rain and the 60's cars. I wait for the moment it gets fixed and we could race real weather races.

Quote:Added an optional minimum FFB torque to the controller.ini file. Disabled by default This one is really nice! Everyone with G25/G27 should try this to get rid of that little FFB-deadzone in the center ![]() Steering torque minimum="0.08000" worked great for me but I'm going to try a higher value too.

slight problem
as is the case in "my world" it seems that the new upgrade must have a new code or something in it that my security software keeps trying to block. i think i got it figured out and was just allowed in to see if zolder79 is on SR4L's server. (it was not yet ) the bug doesn't seem to effect my running RF2 off-line.. i thought i'd post this in case anybody else encounters it..i was also hoping that the new upgrade would address the spotter's volume. i have it up 100% and still have trouble hearing it - with headphones.. oh well, maybe next time. i will also try that G27 fix - thanks Hedlund

I had some fps issues and small graphic glitches since auto update, so I did a fresh install (I think I'll keep doing that in the future). Much better fps and it works great. BUT when I tried to join a server, rf2 CTD when choosing car model, and now it crashes everytime I enter multiplayer. It seems like almost everyone on isiforums have the same problem. LOL. Great build
![]() @Jerry, if you want to hear the spotter you can reduce all other sounds and keep spotter to 100%. Reduce player, opponent and engine volume to 40% for example... I think that should work.

I'm one of the people finding it hit or miss getting on a server. Hope they can find the problem and make a quick update.

This happened to me in last build, a fresh install was the solution. As for the spotter, Rik may be right, I read that in the forum some builds ago. ![]()

Hedlund Wrote:Quote:Added an optional minimum FFB torque to the controller.ini file. Disabled by default I've been testing with this the whole day. I agree on 0.08000 being the best setting but my wheel gets realy noicy then. I'm now on Steering torque minimum= 0.05000 with ingame ffb set to 0.75 and in logitech profiler ffb to 115 and wow i think i realy feel everything. Cars seem to handle a lot more like they sould do, that is i now feel much more confident driving them. But imho i think it also has to do with: "Optional new HDV [SUSPENSION] line ModelWheelsIncludeAllTireMass=1 improves accounting for tire mass and inertia. Obviously this must coincide with actually adding the tire ring mass and inertia to the wheels in the chassis.ini file. In addition to more accurately simulating the tire ring, this also facilitates the removal of SpinInertia and SpinInertiaAI from the HDV. A related change is the optional removal of TemporaryRingMassInertia from the TGM file – the tire now dynamically changes inertia depending on current shape (a new variable MassInertiaMultiplier can also be included if the physically calculated values are not satisfactory for some reason)".

Yes, and you must have Core and Content installed to the same location. I have always had them in different locations until last build, when I decided to install everything to one place and for the first time EVER I could hear the spotter

i am really confused..
sorry - computer inept :o first problem, I can not get into the on-line portion of RF2, I got in 1 time out of 10, seen that Zolder 79 was on SR4L's site, config'd my car - then it crashed to black.. like it does right before I get my list on every other try. "fresh install" what does that mean? I Re-installed rf2 from their site over top of my game and it does the same thing. do I have to Unistall everything before installing again? if yes, what do I save before deleting? what exactly do you mean???? Yes, and you must have Core and Content installed to the same location. I have always had them in different locations until last build, when I decided to install everything to one place and for the first time EVER I could hear the spotter ![]() [/quote] ?????????? are you talking about the problem with the spotter or the problem of getting on-line? I also looked at my internet settings to find an IP address?? someone on Rfactor forums said they must match?? where are they at?? I am going to get an aspirin.. try again latter tonight or tomorrow seeeeeeeeeeeeee ya --- jer

I'm a noob at this Jer, but the thing Hedlund said was about the spotter i think.
Imho you don't need to worry about the on-line thingy, it seems to be a problem with this build like Tim W said on the ISI forum. I think they are working on it now to solve the problem. Tonight i've been able to do some online racing at the isi servers, Cookie and Steve Combey :-\ (aka Hardtohandle) where also in.

Hi Jerry. Don't worry about the game crashes. Almost everyone have the same problem, inclusive me, and ISI will hopefully release a new build in the next few days to fix it(I really hope so)
Fresh install - for me it means remove the game COMPLETELY. Uninstall and delete rf2 folders that are not deleted by uninstaller. Then install new build. Usually solves the problems ![]() Core and Content installed to the same location - when installing rf2, you're asked to choose location first for Core, and then for Content. Usually (at least for older builds) the default location was Core > C:\program\rfactor2 and the Content folder (packages and player files etc) was in user\documents. If you install both core and content to the same location (C:\programs\rfactor2 for example) the spotter will work Probably a bug.

jerry 33 Wrote:"fresh install" what does that mean? Fresh install means: You download the Lite version. You save Packages folder from your current RF2 installation. You save UserData folder from your current RF2 installation (thats a tricky one, as there, is the Controller.ini where they changed the dead zone thing at last build, I still havent upgraded to last build so Im not the man to tell you exactly what to do). Uninstall RF2 from Control Panel. Delete manually rFactor2 folder from your Program Files in whatever Drive you have them. Reboot. Install Lite build. Paste your Packages and UserData folders that you previously saved. Run rfactor2 once to see it works and reboot. Install all things in Packages folder and youre ok. Dont be intimidated, if you do it once, it is a 15min most job. ![]()
