I don't know exactly how these tires lasted back in the 60's

afaik they lasted a full race, so Im sure these are modelled wrong about this.

I had heard that a set sometimes was used for more than one weekend. And is that fuel usage (2 liters per lap) for the double fuel usage rate we'll be using for the race?

I've been thinking a bit about this.
In the old days they raced mainly open road narrow tracks, with no scape-roads, low grip asphalts, risk of dead at the slightlest error.... so probably tires weren't pushed as much as we push them in the simulator.
Silverstone has a more abbrasive surface, is very wide and has big scape-roads along long fast curves where you can push really hard the limits of the tires (that is what causes the more tire degradation).

Going back to the old classics as Belgium and Montecarlo, even the "fear of dead" factor is no longer there and we can push harder, tire wear should be no problem there.
