Yes, the concrete joints and unevenness on the front straight and especially the T1 curve seem more bumpy that the sim track. When your swinging around T1 needing grip and the car is bouncing it does add an element of unease, i.e., thrill!
As far as turn points and braking, I wasn't driving with the same aggression and on-the-edge style that we do in sim racing, and of course I wasn't going as fast, so it's hard to make direct comparisons. But the sim layout seems very accurate. And yes, the experience of driving the sim was a BIG help. I'm classified as a novice so I must have an instructor with me when I drive. I never mention that I am a sim racer. But typically, half way through my first session my instructors (I've driven 4 different tracks) start expressing amazement at how quickly I've gotten the technique down. I let them go on a bit then confess to them that I've done a 1000 laps at that track in a car that is much faster and more challenging than my little street car!
