I have a Vive... even heavier. What I did was attach a weight to the back of the head strap (a piece of lead I had hanging around) as a counter to the front weight of the HMD. Obviously doesn't make it lighter but keeps the weight off my nose. Still a lot less weight than a real racer would have on his head with a helmet.
