But how can I do it myself? I tried to create a new skin in the loose skin directory and later changing the number of this directory but with no luck.

Im not sure what you mean by that.

Usually you must download skin file (.psd) from car maker, modify it with Photoshop or equivalent program, save it as .dds file by installing DDS plugin from nvidia into painting program, and saving .dds file into your Settings folder.
