".......Monaco is still the Grand Prix of the season, and that is a good thing. The sport simply needs a race track which is completely different to all the others. Things are getting worse all the time. Some person or other sits all by himself somewhere with a computer and works out the shape of the ideal bend, which is then built everywhere. I stick to the view, in any case, that racing cars should be adapted to the circuit and not the other way round. In this respect too, Monaco is a beautiful exception. In a time of uniformity such alternative thinking is more necessary than ever."
