I'm sorry about leaving the race to edit the file with only a few minutes to go, but I genuinely thought I could get beck with time to spare, in fact I thought I had get back before the flag dropped, hence the request for vote. In hindsight I should not have ask for a vote or chatted, but I feel it's rude entering a room and not saying anything before leaving.
I get what you mean about practicing but I have memory problems, I do actually practice before the race. I'm OK on tracks I have been constantly running for years (Nürburgring), and do learn the track as I go along, but forget it later and need a refresher course. That's why I do better on Ovals than road courses. If I am doing realy badly I will leave the race rather than mess others' races up. Before I went off to fix the blue circles (targets?) I was gaining a couple of seconds a lap. That said, I seem unable to go as fast as other people even when I know the track. I've been doing this for over 20 years but still can't go that fast.
For those of you who remember GPL Rank and the later NASCAR version; I never managed to beat any of the ranks, although I did get to less than a 1 second away at Monza. I did though manage it at the Superspeedways in NASCAR.
