I tried turning mirrors off during the race - the side mirrors are totally useless in the Alfa anyway…

I’m missing something though - the toggle mirrors button only seemed to affect the virtual mirrors - is it a JSON entry for the sides?

Have you checked the Fairlady collision mesh yet

Just remembered that in*did* test the mirrors in the 155 last night. In VR (in this car at least) the multi-stage mirror toggle does *not* turn the actual side mirrors off. They give a tiny flicker on one of the key presses, but remain resolutely on!
