...and in the pit menu (for when you are setting up what you want to happen when you box) - you are setting the amount of VE you want when you leave the box. Not the incremental amount to be added, not the incremental amount of physical fuel - VE on exit. If you pit earlier than planned, you may need to increase how much you want on exiting the box. If you pit later than planned (and don't run out of fuel or VE), consider reducing it.
